Air circulation questions

Hey guys i have a room i made 6.5 feet x 5 foot. I have reflective tarp covering the walls. I have a areozesh g4 4" vent fan and then just a box fan for air movement. I have 2 1200 watt full sectrum led (which arrive tomorriw) and 2 200watt full sepctrun led. My question is is the regular box fan adequate enough for air circulation or should i buy a second

If you can swing it, I’d purchase oscillating fans you attach to the poles. They should be adjustable in height. That will give you better circulation

Ok but how many fans should i have?

I run 2 6" ACI fans in my 2x4’ tent. It works well enough. I adjust to mamke sure I have good circulation under their canopies

You will know as the plants progress in growth. My plants are in full flower and have the fans positioned about midway from the soil to the top. I run them now at mid power. I’ve read some of the most experienced growers here believe air circulation and light are the most important environmental actor to healthy plants

I thought you dont want the fan blowing directly on them?? And i posted pics of the room and plants

You could use a couple of fans (you pick) pointed right at the plants from opposite directions. Best to you Gromie

I point em right at it. Want to use low setting at your plants stage - just enough to give them a little stress. You will up the volume of circulated air as the grow.

You can have fans blowing directly on the leaves / canopy but don’t want cat5 hurricane conditions that get the leaves damaged by friction rubbing against each other. But remember to have enough fresh air introduced into the room as well. I use one 10” box fan per square 40” SCROG blowing down on the canopy. There’s 3 SCROGs next to each other in that room. But have an 8” inline bringing in fresh air from outside on a timer which causes more circulation. The room is about 9’x8’

That’s the textbook arrangement – one above and another below the canopy. Like @T-ray, I have two 6" oscillating fans in a 2’ x 4’ tent. Mine are in opposite corners, pointing toward each other. The high one points slightly down; the low one points slightly up.

The oscillation ensures the fans don’t dwell on a plant and dehydrate it. Instead, I get an ever-varying breeze. Low velocity at first; higher as the plants get bigger.

Circulation fans stir the air and thereby make its temperature and humidity more uniform. The breeze strengthens the stalk and stems by stressing them slightly.

Two fans should be enough for the plants you have now if you place them close to the plants. As you fill that room up, you’ll need more.

5x5. This fan has run constantly for 2 year stretches. Was the main circulating fan in a 4x8 running light rails and 3 HLG550. 7 years old. I point it towards a corner when in use. Will come on soon as putting flowering girls in. It is powerfull. Will circulate a tent on setting 1 up to 4x8. Can circulate 10x10 on 2. Swings the girls a bit. Helps a LOT if your strain has large tops. Strengthens the branches. The exhaust right now is a 6". Doesnt require a lot of specialized gear to fully exchange a tents air in a minute or 2. Lungroom control helps more than anything you put in the tent if it is stable and the exchange from room to tent to room is good. Just what I have found living in a very subpar climate.
