Advice - mainline branch clean snap

Today, doing some LST I. Snapped a branch clean off on my manifold base, just above the first node.
Because it couldn’t be saved I essentially just topped it here and directed growth into 4.
I’m now left with what will be four main colas instead of 8.
What do you think I should do? Just allow the 4 colas to veg or wait for regrowth, top again above the 3 node on the mains, so I end up with 16??? Colas if my math is correct?? Space is a little issue, 16 might be too mcub
Pic for details

Sorry,
Allow my four colas to veg, then flip to flower

Or

Regrow and top again

Stick the top in some soil and root it like a clone.
Since its a photo period just let it grow. You wont lose production since you can let it grow until its big enough to fill your space.

Could you top one or two of the four so you have 8 or 12 colas instead of 16? Might be lopsided on height then?

I would but space is my biggest issue. I can only put out one plant at a time

Then root it and choose which one you want to finish. The top will continue to grow just like a new sprout.

If I grow to the 3rd node, top to the second node, take off the 1st node, so I’m left with 4 mains, topped at 2 I’ll be back at 8 right?

Whew!? Might too much math for me right now. Lol. You could top it for 16 tops then prune the ones that you dont have room for. Might grow more even then?

Edit. Your numbers seem right. Top four mains to two each should be 8

Might find ideas here,
I dont think its a matter of which is best. I think its just pick one and do it. Any way will work and give you a good harvest.

Yeh I think that’s right.
If I top at two
Take growth of at 1
I’ll be left with 2 mains on each of the 4 I have now. Putting me back a week or two but I think it’s the best option.

Their weeds. I think you can prune and train them to whatever works best for your space. If the top is flat, all the rest should work itself out. Happy growing!

Cheers bud, just think I needed a bit of encouragement and a minute to think it through.
My plants hate my heavy hands. My wife loves em haha.
Plant ties are too fumbly for me. Just going to use stakes, like I have now from now on.

She’ll finish up with some monster colas Grow Bro :love_you_gesture:

1/2 of a manifold. I snapped half the plant off and re-trained the side to grow vertical

That’s a thing of beauty right there.
Cutting off growth hurts my soul but I know it’s for the best.
I’m just sad that i lost the growth I had over the past week or so, she was ready to be topped again on the weekend. I couldn’t see my soil from above at all. I was only in the doing some light LST and all I hear was a loud cruch, the whole of one side on the floor. Initially I tried to bandaid it back on with some honey but It just kept falling off. It would of never healed. So took out my pruning scissors and just took off the other side, and made a clean cut to the side lost.
It’s all learning though, I spotted my first deficiency and diagnosed myself the watering before last (calcium deficiency, bounced back within 24 hours) . So, even though this is my first weed grow I think I’m doing OK.

Thanks everyone for all your advice. This community is the best! I will update this thread when I have topped at 2 and brought it back to its former glory :muscle: and let you know if my fuck up has resulted in a huge yield or not

It happens to me occasionally Grow Bro. I’ll run a few manifolds on autos and photos but really like the modified version where you leaves nodes 3 and 4. This is my typical go to and produces a good yield and quality buds :love_you_gesture:

I do not care if mainlining produces a slightly lower yield, like some say, than other methods… It’s the coolest way to train a plant. It makes everything look so sexy. And for a beginner it’s really not that hard. Simple to follow process.

I am not sure what stem you broke off. It looks to me like you have 4 mains? If you top each of those you will have 8 mains. Looks like a normal mainline.
What am I missing?

Do you only top once when you do the modified version?

1 topping and done…great technique for photos and especially autos. Top above the 4th leave the 3rd and strip all growth below the 3rd node :love_you_gesture:
