I add it every time they get fed. Others may have other ideas. It likely would not make much difference whether you include CalMag every feeding or on alternate feedings.
I am an indoor grower. @Oldguy may have better insight regarding outdoor growing.
@Oldguy I think that bumpy crap on the foliage is from when I sprayed some bud blaster on it and there might have been a little too much sun out, I’m more focused on the brighter green lines on the leaves!
Most of the more experienced growers avoid foliar feeding their cannabis plants. If there is some reason for spraying them such as treating for pests, it is recommended to do this just before lights off. The water droplets on the leaves can act as a magnifying lens and cause burn spots.
The leaves look very dark green which could be due to too much nitrogen.
Just reduce the amount of nitrogen heavy nutrients that you give the plant. I am not certain that you have an excess nitrogen issue. The deep green of the leaves just jumped out at me. Let’s see what @Oldguy thinks.
So I haven’t been adding any nuts cause I know the soil has some in it! Just the calmag a few days ago. I assume the blistering is from a burn from the bug blaster and the sun!
Older leaves die off naturally. I don’t worry about them unless the newer leaves higher on the plant start showing signs of ill health. @Oldguy is an outdoor grower and may have better insight. I only grow indoors and have tight control on the environment.
Also, do you guys have any tips on slurry tests as far as soil to water ratio? See a few things out there and its all different.
I just did one, soil from the base area and soil from 6 inches out or so.
Ph at base after slurry reads 6.8 and 6 inches out is 5.8.
My smaller plant the base is 6.18 and 6 inches out is 5.77.
Not sure what your thoughts are on these readings.
I did about 13g of soil each which is the bottom of a red solo and then basically doubled that with distilled water and stirred and let sit for 15 minutes.
Also, as a side note: I may have gone a little deeper 6 inches out cause near the base i kept hitting roots and didn’t want to cause damage.
Think I’ve only done a slurry test once.
Sorry.
Generally I think you’ve got the process tho.
Lower ph further from the base could be attributed to drier soil closer to the edges but if watered to a 10-20 % runoff each time then that should help with it.
Have you been watering to runoff ? Just curious.
@Oldguy ahh okay! And normally I only put a few gallons of water when I feed them because i only collect about 8 gallons of river water the day before and split between the two 20 gallon pots.
