ACI S44 Ionboard

So i bought the Ac Infinity 4x4 complete last year which comes with the s44 ionboard. Ive been using the photone app to try and dial in my lights and have little to no success during flower. Every grow im getting lightburn and bleaching of my leaves. Even with it backed off in distance from manufacturer recommendations and power.

I know i need to pull the trigger on a lux or parr meter and ditch the photone app. Or atleast have one to help calibrate it better than the default calibrations built in.

My question is who else is using the s44 ionboard and are you having the same issues? And if not what are you doing because my spider farmers arent doing this to my plants under the same photone readings.

What distance is light from canopy?

I was running at 22" at 100% and have since backed it off to 24" at 100%

I might have been closer to 19 to 20" initially though. Given some slight stretch over the past week. My foots broken so its been slightly neglected.

I have had burning in the past but it was not from light, my problem was having fan blowing constantly on plant.
I was going to buy par meter but at $500 ,just too much for me so I just use the back of my hand to feel heat at top of plant then back off some.
You should not have to buy par meter if you follow manufactures recommendations.

I use oscilating aci fans on like setting 4 so im not certain i can attribute wind burn to the problem although not ruling it out. As well this doesnt answer the bleaching.

Ive ran off factory recommendations from the start and used these to calibrate the photone app. Although i did recently read that the app is much more accurate using the Sun setting during calibration for full spec led. So ill be recalibrating it later today. That being said using the same approach with Spider Farmer and ACI and factory specs this is the only light ive had issues with burning in flower.

Im sure its more of a me issue than the light.

I agree with this. Lighting is rarely an issue unless the light is placed so close that the plant experiences the heat from the light. I’ve seen “light burn” thrown around a lot, but in my 4 years here I’ve never actually seen a case of light burn. Nearly all cases I’ve seen of supposed “light bleaching” were actually an iron deficiency or something similar. The timing of the appearance of issues is likely a coincidence.

I recently had a pretty decent mag deficiency going but i believe its under control. This looks like rust but doest rub off, some of the effected leaves are becoming papery and fading. And the browning doesnt penetrate the entire leaf. The undersides look fine.

Yup, My app maxes at 35KLux. The UT383BT sensor is $30.00 and measured same space with max at 70K. My lights are at 25 inches and 50K lux for crown flowers.
And this appears to be the maximum for these conditions. Slight taco on top leaves.
Lowers doing fine. Good $30.00 investment.

PH for hydro should be between 5.5 - 5.8 you may be experiencing lock out

sorry i lost internet connection earlier today then was distracted at work before i could edit and finish what i was trying to say. But if your system is working in that range then good. I am growing in Coco and the PH range is between 5.5 - 5.8 for this form of hydro. Sorry if i came across abrupt earlier but i was cut short lol.

Yeah im not sure about coco. Im pure hydro and the prefered ph range is 6 with 5.5 and 6.5 being the edges of a good range. I figured the issue out for the most part. For whatever reason i was in the wrong week on my feeding schedule and should have trasitioned already and has her on beasti bloomz longer than i should have. Think im getting dementia or something because i could have swore the old FF hydro schedule said 4 week Beast 2 weeks Cha ching.

Same here

Potassium, phosphorous, calcium, manganese, iron, and boron uptake decreases rapidly at pH values above 6 in hydro.

Wth…everything ive read says 5.5 to 6.5 with 5.8 to 6.2 being great, 6 as best and the former being the danger zones to stay above or below.

Well looks like a pH issue to me lol

Now you got me searching to be sure lol ! I found this within ilgm info… hope it helps

I blame Royal Queen Seeds website. They were always the first to pop up when id do random searches when i started out. Either way ive always shot for 6.0 pH and it generally doesnt swing more than .4 either direction. It does tend to swing up more so than down though so ill be sure to keep a better eye on it. All in all shes doing much better now after getting her on the right schedule

5.8 is generally recognized as the sweet spot.
