Ok. what is the distance from light to plant?
If ur tips (that u cut) had yellow brown ‘burnt’ looking tips it was possibly nute burn from too much N.
Adding nutes to water normally drops pH a few points rendering. It useless in soil unadjusted. Plus if u can find Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil then it comes loaded enough for 4-6 weeks of straight watering (no nutes needed) or until u choose to flip the lights to 12/12 n flower her
sorry guys i made my account yesterday and ran out of replies i could make in 1 day!
@PurpNGold74 I have a 600W light that is hanging approximately 35.5" (almost 3 feet) from the plant. and yeah i had assumed it took in too much nitrogen and thats what burned the tips. I currently bought a small kit to test pH and change it accordingly

Not right place to hold your temp reader. Imo. Best place is in canopy and on/in soil second.
But everyone has own ways.
Good luck to your grow.

Any specific reason? I had it originally laying in the soil and did some tests where I’d move it to see if it read the same temp and it did so since it was magnetic I just put it on my light. Didn’t want to risk getting any dirt in it lol
Lights emits heat and fans lower rh. Temps/rh what are in canopy means…
Sorry about the delay. Yes it is better to have it around the plant so u can get more accurate to her…
@boardsbird uses a 600w. What is the distance there? Im semi sure 3 ft is plenty. But dont wanna tell u wrong here

I would run a 600w led about 24" off a plant that size starting at 36" for a seedling
But the plant looks very compact so it maybe a 600w HPS???
@boardsbird I believe so but not entirely sure. this is a link to the same exact light i have (except i purchased it on amazon):
http://www.glogro.com/product/sygavled-300w-led-grow-light-high-yield-full-spectrum-indoor-hydroponic-plants-veg-bloom/
should i hang it and a different length then?
@PurpNGold74 I have moved my humidity and temp reader for a more accurate reading. Thanks!

Yea 24-26 inches should be fine for her. And that is an LED. Its actual draw is only 132… so you may need more intense lighting in flower but that is a discussion for a later date.
I have 600 viparspectra and 24 is max distance even when just seedlings go vegging. They are not so powerful then you are thinking
Im first do same protective grow. Now i have max height 20. When in flower 10 inch height. And viparspectra wall draw is 270+ do the math
@PurpNGold74
@beginner2d
Thanks guys! When I bought it on amazon I didn’t see it’s actual draw like the link that I just put showed so I actually did think it was much stronger! But I have put it much closer approx 18” for now while I calculate the best height and while I look for a better light. Any recommendations for lights that aren’t crazy expensive but work well?

I have also adjusted the pH (the soil was alkaline) so she should be growing faster much sooner! All that’s left is for me to get Fox farmers soil
What is crazy expensive? I have to be absolutely honest. A qb HLG 65 is under $100 and a gamechanger. A couple more bucks and u can get the HLG 100 which is even better. And if ur only growing one plant itll be perfect

@PurpNGold74 haha yeah that’s perfect! I’ll make sure to look on amazon or other sites and see if I can find some
try searching for hlg on google i bought mine direct from hlg. if you assemble the kit yourself u can save some money. id recommend the hlg 135 v2 3000k for a single plant. its what i have, its what @raustin has and its what @dbrn32 recommends too. its a top of the line quantum board that is the most efficient and pretty much the best you can buy and its a great price for what u get

I agree. That’s why I have 4 of them.

HLG stands for Horticulture Lighting Group and QB stands for Quantum Board since everyone forgets new people don’t know the abbreviations lol.
