@beardless. Not for organic its not. FFOF comes in around 1500 to 2000 ppm when new. I am not using FFOF just comparing. If it was synthetic feeding I would be burning my plants up, but in organic like mine the plants take what they need as they need it.
I am not adding anything but water at this time. And it will drop tell I top dress again normally around 800ppm. About 3 weeks.

@MeEasy thanks. They are just like weeds. Lol

:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: @Axemanjake23 pun intended weeds… and yes ppm is high on purpose with organic soil because what’s coming out is your poo n stuff :point_left: puff n stuff, pun intended again

That is what I figured. It is quite a difference.

Ya it is. I kinda freaked out the first time I top dressed and checked my ppms at 2200. Then I read up on it and found out the plant uses what it needs and really doesn’t burn.

You can go up to 5000 ppm in organic and suffer no I’ll effects… I don’t even know where my meter is…:sunglasses::v:

It’s recommended not to water to runoff when growing organic living soil because you are flushing out your living critters and their food. Here’s a link to the guys at homestead they cover tons of different stuff including growing cannabis natural organic this article is on feeding techniques and includes a little more about watering it’s a great article I think mainly because they don’t sell anything they’re just a information like online magazine not just a cannabis site

Yeah, I know, I only water to run off sometimes. Once every 2 weeks just to see how things are looking in there. Gives me an idea of ph at the root zone and how long tell I have to feed again. I read that, it was a good read man, thanks for keeping on the right path. Or trying too. Lol

I thought you were referring to feed ppms of 1200 - 1500 not runoff ppms.
I normally feed 600 - 800 ppms. A heavy flower feed might be pushing 1000.
The runoff ppms will consistently be 2000 - 3000. If I get much over 3000 I will run another 1-2 liters of ph water. I use a heavily amended soil

Ohh got ya.

I did nothing today but pick my pots up, still heavy. I bet 2 more days before I water. I treat this medium more like soil then coco due to all the amendments, worm casting and compost make up at least a 1/3 of the mix. I ph at 6.2 to 6.5 and I don’t water daily. They are 11 days out the soil today.

The ladies are 2 weeks out the soil today. They are looking great. I did water 1.5 gallons between all the plants. Ph at 6.2. Some on the top most through the bottom.

Must be living right. None of my 2 week seedlings have ever looked that good.
Do you think coco makes that much difference?

My last grow was in soil the exact same mix and they grow slower. The coco keeps that 30% oxygen level even when soaked, I think that helps. The roots are never deprived of oxygen after a watering like I think they are in more pete soil mix.

@beardless I know better then to start a bunch of new things at once.

The organic coco, new idea
2 gallon pots, new idea,
And 6/2 for light schedule is new.
I am also using BT early to stop and gnats also new.

So yeah between all the new stuff they are growing really well.

I have a hard enough time setting my timers to go off and one once a day let alone three. Is the 6/2 supposed to knock off a couple days overall?

From what I read the plant is only able to take in so much light then the excess time past the plants use of light is wasted. On a 6/2 schedule all the light can be used due to all the dark periods, and it gives ur ladies time to recover. It is still 18hrs of light and 6 of dark just broken up. It seems to be working well.

I have been on the other end. All the autos I have grown have been on 20/4 schedule. Always curious if they needed more rest time.

My environment is dialed in pretty well this grow. I moved the humidifier outside the tent. Seems to work well that way. 15days out the soil

The pots were light enough to water today. I also topped dress as I am in week 3, 17days since popped. For the two gallon pots they each received 2 tbsp of home grow veg for cal and mag, and 2 tbsp of flower girl. Along with some kelp meal, bone meal, and rock phosphate. 1 tsp each. The 3 gallon pots got the same but 3tbsp of each.

My Mazar by Dutch Passion is having a “P” issue. I checked my ph with a slurry test and its 6.5, so I hope the issue was lack of. Pretty sure it is. The top dressing should fix it. She is a hungry girl and one of the fasted growers.
