U can see in my journal that I tried using the plugs to germ and sprout some seeds, I thought trying out would be better than the paper towel method but I was wrong. I lost half the seeds from it. Iwent back to using the paper towel method. I’ve had alot of success with it. Try it next time and see if you like it. I dont soak them before I out them in the paper tower I just throw the beans in a moist paper towel and put it in a open ziplock bag and they sprout in a day or 2
I read some posts about the peat cups I wanted to use and it seems like a majority of folks, including @Hellraiser , do not recommend them, with seemingly good reason. I am going to use the double solo cup method for my seedlings. (Clear in a colored).
This time I germinated my seeds in a cup of water and only one out of 16 did not germinate. I thought that a 93.75% success was good. After they popped I planted them in my sprout tray, which I will not be using again. I will go right from cup of water to clear solo cup to 5 gallon bucket. Although, I may try 5 gallon grow bags.
Go with the grow bags. 100%.
Yeah not a fan of the peat pods or cups, or the small seed starter trays. I like to start in solo cups and then transplant to fabric or mesh pots (more oxygen to the roots, drys up faster, less over-watering issues). I find coco coir the easiest medium to grow in as it’s almost impossible to over-water it, but you do have to water/feed it more often.
Looking good!
Where are the other 3 hours?
Assume you mean 18/6?
Things are definitely looking up!!
Ha… too damn baked.
Good problem to have.
Nice, getting some growth!
Thank you.
Looking healthy. Lots of work happening under the surface….!
It’s hard to just sit back and watch/wait.
And… I take more pictures of these plants than I do my kids! L.0.L.
When they root and start growth you’ll be amazed how quickly things start to happen.
Top pic is from 8/11, bottom 8/21. 10 days……
That’s amazing to me.
Truly is. Keep trucking on and you’ll be seeing the same first hand before you know it.
Patience is a virtue here for sure. Lots to learn on the first grow, harvest, trim, dry, cure… once you’ve done it all once it gets far easier / less stressful. And feels faster.
I want to top my photos and S.O.G. the autos when it’s time… but it worries me.
I worry about missing a window or doing them to early or just plain doing it wrong.
Looks like things are starting to smooth out! Good growth, good color!
Give your photos a little more time before you top them. Get about 5 nodes in growth and make sure your plant is good and healthy and can take shock and stress that occurs when topping.
Your cruising now, all looks good. Keep at it.
