Those trees are going to get big
. Do you have any bug problems?
Nothing big yet, insects have nibbled on a few leaves here and there. The ground is covered in 3 to 4 inches of decomposed granite which helps keep the dust down. Before putting decomposed granite down, we had let our lawn die - drought and didn’t want to water neighbors trees - and applied food grade diatomaceous earth a few times to keep fleas under control.
I’m really impressed with how stinky and crystally the AK-47 continues to get…
Your dog looks very happy with your outdoor grow, great job.
The soft grow bags will do what’s called capillary feeding and the small roots will grow through soft pot
It shouldn’t hurt you at all to move them around I actually put mine on bricks to make it easier to collect samples ? @Big123
Thank you, bricks/stone great idea, I’m trying to move them as little as possible, I get some partial shade in parts of garden for a few hours around mid-day…
They do look happy. Makes my back sore looking at those: I had 4 like that this spring we were schlepping around haha.
Thank you, luckily I only have to slide them around every now and then…
I’m trying to beat the heat in nor cal myself
@SourD, mid 80’s on the central coast today.
100 degrees today yesterday 106 ![]()
@Hogmaster that’s awesome gonna try it myself
I noticed a little insect activity and put down some food grade diatomaceous earth…`
Dug another hole for Gold Leaf, topped non ILGM white widow on most branches…`
Do you have early flowering concerns based off of limited sun exposure?
None, I’d be happy with early flowering on the 5 photoperiod plants. The plants get a few hours of direct morning sun, then a few hours of partial shade sun, and few more hours of direct afternoon to evening sun. The 2 chronic widows and one AK-47 auto getting more mid-day direct sun than others. I was concerned about height, staying under 6 feet, so I had to dig holes for tall ones.
@Big123 “I was concerned about height, staying under 6 feet” You win the internet today with that simple statement!!!
I believe the non-topped, older and hard start Chronic Widow has started Pre-flowering, the younger one and accidentally topped will likely start soo
These look amazing, your pots are much larger than mine. I wonder if I may need to consider a change. Is it true the larger the pot the larger the crop?
So long as they get enough sunlight, fresh air, et cetera to take advantage, yes, the bigger the roots, the bigger the fruits. Some will argue they can get same amount by supplementing as a hydro grower would, however, they will be watering a lot more often and not have cooler root temperatures a larger container offers.
