5 weeks into flower

This is my WW fem, planted on 1/3/17, put in flower on 3/15. Other than what appears to be a nitrogen deficiency things are moving along but the yield won’t be as good as the last time.

Later in flower they need less and less nitrogen, may I ask why you think nitrogen deficiency

I’m seeing a general yellowing of the older leaves with the oldest dropping off. The leaves around the bud sites are a more healthy looking green.

The overall appearance is yellow. 6.3 ph in, 5.9 out grown in soil. I’m a bit high to fill out a support ticket…tomorrow.

Ok that works probably won’t need one, what type of soil are you using gotcha, are the middle fan leaves yellowing as well?

Oh, yeah. The whole plant has a yellow cast which I had originally attributed to nitrogen scavenging during flower. Both plants appear similar. I’ve been using Black Magic soil which is an excellent brand made from organic materials optimized for marijuana.

I had been concerned about nutrient concentration causing acidity so did flush with ph 7.0 water until the effluent was at 6.3 then fertilized with my bloom fertilizer on the next watering. No burned leaf tips just an overall yellow cast. No appreciable purple.

Ok I know what going on quite simple and yes your on the right track get her a flower food she needs more nitrogen phosphorus and potassium lower yellow leaves are likely from her lack of nitrogen, once getting into middle and yes top, its a combination of the main elements (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium) that are deficient.

A ratio of 5-10-25 or 9-58-10 (9-58-10 is found in fox farm nutrients specifically the open sesame beastie bloomz and cha Ching) this will help get them on track

So, an infusion of nitrogen is acceptable this late?

Yes it sure is

How late into the flower cycle should I go with nitrogen, based on my obvious deficiency?

Id go all the way till finish just less nitrogen than phosphorus and potassium, give her some cal mag as well if you have any just to keep that in balance and you’ll be all set

I just got some black magic it’s helping my girls out they had a lack of NPK no more drastic yellowing it’s looking more green in the tent.

I’ve read about using Epsom salts as a replacement for cal mag. Any thoughts?

To add to all of my troubles I’ve developed a case of bud rot. It appears that the plants were severely stressed and maybe borderline dormant. Between flushing and introducing nitrogen I was worried about over watering. Justified in retrospect. What is interesting is that the buds have all suddenly started to swell and put out new hairs again.

I believe that the stress on the plants from nutrient starvation contributed to this and I’m now trying to recover from it. I removed the worst fungus and sprayed everything with an organic fungicide for fruits and vegetables. All I can do is keep a close eye on it now.

@Majiktoker, @Nuggyunlimited, @Ragnar, @Oldstoner, my plan is to repot into 10 gallon smart pots today using fresh soil and to see what the root structure looks like. I worked over the one plant with bud rot (WW) and believe I got it all. I also left them both out of the box last night with a fan on them. Hopefully the fungicide did it’s job. What do you think?

Sounds good to me they should love the extra room. Sprinkle azos right on the roots when you have them exposed and the plants will love it
