@garrigan62 ⦠just read your reply to someone about a magnesium deficiency. Do you think this is my problem with the darkening / curl upward ? I have just used Nitrosol on them. I assume it has Mg in it but Iām still in bed and the bottle is outside so havenāt checkedā¦if so, this will fix it?
Thanks great informative reply
Not sure why 1 is growing slowere than the other 2, but it looks really healthy. These are Australian bush bud seeds if anyoneās wondering. Thinking the smaller one might be more Indica and other 2 more Sativa?
Unfortunately I had to bury a baby yesterday, (poor Bob) but these are the 3 I have left. Anyone got tips/ideas on LST or Sea of Green, as theyāre going to grow taller than the bush theyāre in so Iām going to train them alongā¦@cyberblast⦠came across one of your posts somewhere and you seem to be experienced in LSTā¦any tips? The 3 plants pictured are about 1 foot from eachother, in a row.
These have been out of pots and in the ground for about 4 wks, and about 2 months in the bush all up. I feed them Nitrosol (Nitrogen based liquid fertiliser) every 2 wks and I topped them all once when I put them in the ground from their pots.
After watering them yesterday, man yeah they look fantastic!
They probably didnāt get enough light in the seedling days which might account for their slowish growth but theyāre taking off now
Australia is where they areā¦full sun all day every day in the long summer daysā¦wish me luck to harvest!

As to LSTing, I havent done any outdoor grows. All of mine are indoor in tents. You can bend your branches horizonally and tie them down to a rock or other object on the ground. Do that with your tallest branches. I have also done what they call supercrops which is bending the branch till it bends, a hard bend where you have a visible bend point. dont break it completely but you will feel it snap but not break apart. Try it on one branch or two to see how you do it. On unimportant branches. Let it go then a couple of days to make sure its good and will continue to live and grow. You might wrap some tape around the bend junction to support it also. But do it gently and with caution. A couple branches/stems at a time. Dont overdo it. Better for the most just to tie them down. No risk of damage or little risk. It works for me but others here are far more experienced in this than I am. Going to tag them and have them chime in. @Wishingilivedina420state@Laurap@FloridaSon
Thanks for the tag @cyberblast , Iām no pro but love super cropping and hst. I start a week 1 of veg and bend , pinch, split stems most every day. this kinda shock will add tricons aka thc to the plant. The most important time to hst r super cropping is the flower stretch IMO. And keeping her tided down as she stretches is very important in my tent . An Even canopy is very important.
@Wishingilivedina420state I knew you did alot of LSTing so figured you would be another voice for him to get advice from regarding the method. I do it also, but just one person and havent done it that long really. Thanks for responding my friend. Talk atcha later.
@bob31 thanks for chiming in. He had already tagged you so didnt repeat it. He just needs some advice at the moment for his outdoor grow. I havent done really any outdoor grows so just need someone who has in his type of climate.
Thank you manā¦great info yeah I supercropped 2 of them with fingers crossed when younger and it got them growing. Actually it seemed to save one that was looking pretty lame. I donāt know why but it workedā¦they toughened up! People say be careful but really these plants are pretty tough.
At which point in the veg state is best to start the LST? Theyāve been outside for about 2 months now. Will I bend them now, or wait until theyāre bigger? @cyberblast
thanks!
@Wishingilivedina420state ⦠thanks man wishing I lived in a 420 country! Australia is so behind the timesā¦do you agree @Powaforce ? Of course you do! @Wishingilivedina420state ⦠I like super cropping too. Someone told me and I just did it which made the slower plants get moving⦠you super crop everyday? Does it really add to the trichomes thc? Thatās cool man. Which branches are best?
Also what do you mean by āflower stretchā ? Thanks
@Sunflower well, supercropping causes them to increase because of the damage. They actually will grow somewhat betterā¦cant think of the words I needā¦but they do toughen up. And they are tough plants. My bag seed plants I have growing inside are tough as the dickens. The 3 plants are taking over the tent. I keep bending them, done supercropping as well and they keep growing. I got so many heads popping out its ridiculaous. Here is a photo of just those 3 plants. Oh, and I appoligise for thinking you were a guy. My mistakeā¦should have realized from your handle. My bad.
Sorry, there is a clone right in front from a gold leaf plantā¦its moved out of there now. And that photo was taken on the 7th of Nov. Will post a new one tomorrow soon as the lights turn on again. There is no comparison. It looks like a jungle in there now. I got stems reaching the lights and they grow inches a day. They are in week 4 of flower I think and got a long way to go yet. likely 5 to 6 weeks yet.
Flower stretch is like plant stretchā¦they reach for the light rather than staying compact. Here is an example on mine. But mine I cant control.
This branch was also bent/supercropped and it just has gone wild. Same with the others I supercropped.
You can bend/LST any time now. Mine are in 4wk of flower and I am still bending them and tieing them down. If I didnt they would be six feet high and then some. You can LST even when a few weeks old. I did. It increases your heads and branches. Some people dont like doing it that early but I have and I found it makes a difference.
Good luck on your grow and keep us posted. And if you need any further advice feel free to ask. I will post that update photo for you showing those plants now so you can see the difference just a couple of weeks can make.
Rann Iām in south Australia, we WERE the dope capital of Australia!!! Laws were lax and everybody grew their 9 legal outdoor plants. In walks politician Mike Rann and gives us the toughest grow laws in the country. ATM Iāve got one mully in a tree, another couple in the veggie patch and one in a pot. Lol this growing caper is addictive. As for LST training. Sooner the better. The more light that gets in the middle of your girls the better. I just push tent pegs in the soil and pin the girl over to let the sun in. I bend it so far over that I often must prop up some leaves to avoid them drowning/burning on the soil. Raw spaghetti strands get my vote for that job. I also like squeezing and squishing the stems until the capillaries break without splitting the outer membrane, this forces the plant to suck up its water around the damage and it thickens the stem to be able to suck up even more water/ nutes once the damage heals. Also enables easier LST because the fight in the stem has been broken. Hereās my ilgm strawb kush that gets LST most mornings.
look thru my journal and youāll notice the moment that I gave LST a try. The explosion since is literally grow defining. (1st grow starting late outdoor South Australia) or something like that Lol.
I would just like to stress the importance of keeping the canopy somewhat even. Whatever branches are allowed to rise above the rest will become dominant and thatās where the majority of the energy will go.
I learned that with my outdoor screening attempt. I saw a growth pattern that was really interesting, so I let it continue above the rest. Everything below that seemed to suffer energy loss.
Itās possible that there were other factors involved, but from now on Iāll be paying more attention to keeping everything at a more level growth.
Iām sorry it took so long to respond. My data reception has only gotten worse since Irma came through. Most times I just get pissed off and burn one instead of dealing with the issue.
I donāt get on much anymore because I end up getting mad about the poor data reception I now have.
We come here to get away from stress. Itās been the opposite for me. Slow service eats up my battery waiting for a topic to load and when it finally does, most of the pictures donāt load.
Donāt want to clog this thread, but yāall deserve an answer to why I havenāt been around. When service works enough to load anything, I try to check tags and saw the one above.
