@WillyJ ⦠thanks. Great ideas there
No rain yet which is good but plenty of sun. Going to see babies today and Iāll let you know how they are. I have 2 more 2 inches high 1 set of leaves. Are they ready for sun and if so how many hrs?
How can i post photos? It wonāt let me upload anything except text. @bob31
Regarding the full sun: I would take baby steps with your babies. Put them out in full shade, like on the south side of your house for a few weeks. When they get a few sets of leaves you can try giving them a couple of hours per day, or maybe put them under shade cloth all day. Then gradually move them toward more sun.
It wonāt matter for the autos, but for your normal plants you need to augment their light exposure to 18 hours a day or they will go right into flower when way too young. Your nights down there are getting shorter but they are still close to 12 hours. That tells the plant āSummer is over: Time to reproduce.ā
Iāve never put seedlings outside my outdoor plants were all inside at first but went right outside into sun with no problemsā¦not sure how strong the sun is were you are at this time but Iād say as long as they donāt dry out they should be okā¦thatās why I suggested something to give them some shade for part of the day until they adjust and then you can move it to give more sun or take it awayā¦what do you think @Countryboyjvd1971
I still toss some shade cloth on top of my grow cage when it gets too hot outdoors. Sometimes it can be over 100 F here. I just use the cloth and give them plenty of water and they seem to be okay.
@Sunflower
I do the 24 hour soak in water then another 24 in paper towel moist and in a bag (plastic )
Once I have a 1/4 to 1/2 inch tap root I pot them
Auto go right into a 3 gallon pot and photos go into a starter pot or solo cup
I usually start mine indoors early so they are bigger and in veg when I put them out
I have started them outdoors and agree with @WillyJ on they should be started in a shaded area out of direct sun for the first week or two
A few hour of direct sun is cool. Early morning is best and shade when temps reach highest point
Lower right hit upload if in mobile device and it should give you options @Sunflower hope this helps
Thanks for explaining the difference. Most helpful
@Countryboyjvd1971
thanks for the info. Iāve got 3 outdoors in full sun. 1 didnāt make it probably because they went straight from inside to out as seedlings 2 inches in full sun. But theyāre hardier than i thought. The remaining 3 look good. Waiting on their second set of leavesā¦when will these come along? This is an Australian bushbud strain from a friends last yrs crop. 4 more still home in part shade waiting for their spot in the sunā¦
@Countryboyjvd1971
Still no options for a photo when i press 'upload: Nothing happens.
Thanks for that and great looking trees!
Hope nothing likes to eat cannabis. Around here we have to fence, because deer LOVE new cannabis. I grow in a chain link cage, roof and all. Unfortunately, I just discovered that butterflies can get in and caterpillars are voracious.
@1BigFella
Yeah Iāve got plastic netting over the babiesā¦i know caterpillars, afids etc can get in but so far so good. Seasol is a kelp soray which helps.
I had some buds hanging in my bedroom and today I was awakened by a caterpillar biting my arm! Iām not making this up. I got them all trimmed and pulled some more caterpillars out of them. No more hanging harvest in my bedroom.
@1BigFella ā¦hahaha thatās so funny man. But I love caterpillars. They are so amazing and cute⦠try not to kill them just relocate them from your plants. Karma will love you for it Funny they stayed on your plants all that time! ⦠musta been stoned man
Just lost 2 of my babies to the sunā¦too small too exposed too early. But all up so far 5 outta 8 getting their 2nd set of leaves and time will tell
Full sun can be a killer. I started with some clones that were raised under fluorescents. I put them outside in full shade for a week to get them used to temperature shifts before I started to give them full sun for a couple of hours a day. Did that for several days and then started to give them full sun. The thing is not to shock the babies with big changes.
