That’s why I never use oil anymore. I think you have to add lecithin if you do… I can’t remember. I just know the very first batch I tried to make with oil, I said ‘never again’ LOL they were just oily.

I am at a loss. Maybe reheat with unflavored gelatin or lecithin. I haven’t made any gummies yet so don’t know what would work.

And thanks for checking in :slightly_smiling_face:

Ok when u make ur gummies you have to use half cup water a teaspoon of lecithin and add ur oil have it on a low to medium heat and stir it until the oil and lecithin has melted properly once it is done then add two tablespoons of unflavored geliton and stir it until the geliton is melted properly then add two packs of jello and then stir it well until all is melted properly this should take around 20mins to do rhe whole thing .now if ur adding rso oil you want to melt it to a liquid first then add it to the water and lecithin and infused oil just make sure u stir it for a while then u follow the rest of recipe as normal .Is this what u need help with .

Thank you @Aussie_autos . I need help help saving this mess. As you can see in the picture, The oil surfaced & is puddled up & not really setting up. Kinda looks like the citrus is eating it. I dont know. Just an observation. Is there any way to save this? I followed the recipe. Used 1/2 cup real cherry juice to do the bloom, only thing i changed was added the .76g sticky stuff to the lecithin & my 1/2 cup oil, very low heat , stirred til it was mixed. Then followed the recipe as normal. I use @HobbyDobby recipe :yum:

Ill take a better pic of them this morning .when i get back.

Maybe just let them set out for a while… I know that a lot of the commercial gummies are actually made by spraying the concentrate on the gummies and letting them rest (ewwww). Not sure the method they use to liquify the concentrate (oil, alcohol, etc…)

Do we know the recipe followed?

@TT if you can post the recipe here that you used (including any deviations you may have done) I can help out a lot better.

I have not needed lechitin to get my oil incorporated. It does make it easier but it’s not critical the way I think some people think it is. Something else is amiss, but without seeing the actual ingredients and ratios I can’t help out

I think this is it…

I don’t inherently see anything wrong with this recipe. All I can figure is that @TT must have added the oil, given it a stir and called it a day. I’ve made that mistake and while my gummies didn’t melt on me, they were unsightly, didn’t set right, and tasted terrible because all the infused oil separated out.

I don’t use lechitin (I said that before but maybe it bears repeating) so I don’t have a clue if that may be adversely affecting the recipe for some reason.

I do stir stir stir the whole time, and add the oil last - I stir the oil in thoroughly, if I can see it on the sides of the pan it’s not well-mixed enough.

If it’s melting, chances are not enough gelatin for the amount of liquid. I can’t think of anything in cherry juice that should behave differently than water or passion tea concentrate (that’s what I use). But that’s all I can think.

Edit to say: I would throw them all back in a pot and melt them back down, add another packet of bloomed gelatin (probably with 1/8 cup of water) and stir stir stir til it’s all melted down and reincorporated. Try setting them again.
