So 4 days of germ and I have two seedlings.
4days germ for both plants
Seedling day 2:
The soil is still moist and they look healthy.
I put them into the tent today, but I’m the shade cuz the light is on 100%
I figured they’ll be better off in there cuz the weather here is crappy this week and the warmer temp in the tent should be better for them.
Good seedling development!
4days germ for both plants
Seedling day 3:
They’re stretching a bit so I’m going to phase them into the true light. They will be getting a light breeze from one of the fans in a day or two so they develop some strength.
Really excited about these two… they have popped and started out the gate in a really good way!!
@dbrn32 and @MrPeat you guys have been good on the lighting questions…
I have the above seedlings in my tent now (temp is dropping in the house and outside right now). They’re Autos just popped from soil two days ago.
Do you see a risk in letting them sit under the light (MarsHydro TSW2000) at full strength? The light is about 5 feet off the ground.
Just asking to check my logic there…
Do a lux reading (free phone app) and find a good spot/distance that is 7k-8k lux and you’ll be golden
I have the ‘Korona’ app. I stopped using it because it seemed like my light was too weak to even get a decent reading…
I’ll give it a go when I get home and let ya know. Thanks!!
I run my HLG at full strength. Just adjust like this. Place hand directly above plant. If its to hot, raise and vice versus till its comfortable.
You can run light at higher power raised up. Its best to just watch what the plants do and adjust aa needed.
Thanks guys!!
@GreenSnek I did a Lux reading last night. It’s slightly over 700
But they look good. And I have some jalapeños in there to keep them company.
Yea but they’re stretching pretty hard , get them under that grow light and I bet they’ll be beauties
Yea they are stretching. What’s the risk with that?
It’s just wasted energy and a sign of not enough light , you’ll need to throw extra soil on the top when you transplant to give it extra stability
Ok. I’ll put a fan on em too so they’re not too weak…
It seems to me that a happy seedling won’t do much at all for that first week, maybe a bit longer. I’m only basing this on my personal observations through two batches of seedlings so far. It is just spreading it’s roots. Once it had a firm base it will explode with growth. If we assume the plant has 50 energy. It would normally be using practically all of this to produce root mass. If it’s not getting the energy it needs from the light it’s now diverting whatever portion of this “50” into stem growth to go get what it needs to form the base it needs to veg vigorously. So lower / introduce light until she stops stretching then she can do what she needs to do what you want. Just my noob 2 cents. You can build a little hill around your stem and it will grow roots, speed the process up. I would bury up to like an inch from the leaves. Did this with my GSC x JH a couple times until I got the lights worked out.
Seems like good logic to me!
They’re about 3’ closer to the light now with a little usb fan on half strength blowing on them.
They are also seedlings in 12/12, which is absolutely against all logic, but the prio is my photo and she’s got five weeks left of flower…These two ladies are autos just meant to have a harvest between harvests…
So I have to assume that the 12/12 schedule has them searching for more light…
Day six of seedling and the second nodes are appearing.
Better pic today today if their new ‘shelf’
They are getting a good mist twice a day at this point and seem OK with that.
@RoDeezyDoe @BigHuff2316 @Blue89
Guys… I’m freaking out!!
Should I top this thing?? Should I LST?? Do you think it has mute burn!?!?
I was just over here looking at Meave and I realized I’m a whole different level of relaxed about my grow now having seen one produce… this will be a hell of a lot more fun now.
Alright man. I had to take a second and read the whole post. Those look perfect man.
