28 hour photoperiod

Right? I look at them. I memorize them. I try to find every difference every day. My wife thinks im crazy. I wish so bad i could have a farm of it. I have an obsessive personality i think, but these are my babies. I get so much satisfaction out of it, especially because im trying something different. Im telling you, if you are like me, you should try this method. It might hold no benefit at all, but it really appeals to my nature to try something different. It just adds a higher level of fun.

Finally the week 6 update. Im dealing with deficiencies in 2 strains. Their demands are just too large i think. But last time those strains went 14 weeks. I think you will be able to tell differences.

These are all GSC except the one of the whole tent.

These are the other strains

By the way, they are thirsty, so they are a bit droopy.

Well, i just watered them, and used suluric acid to ph it down. Maybe they will be dead next week. Who knows? Im theorizing that now that they are working on those trichomes, sulfur is such an important part of essential oils. I know i should be working at one theory at a time, but what the hell.

I have to speculate on this, because i dont know the science. On the last grow i eventually turned my lights to a 14/14 cycle, which probably helped them to finish up. But i am almost to 7 weeks. In almost every image i have seen of 9 week plants, the pistils are starting to amber significantly by 7 weeks. I am getting nothing but white pistils. There seems to be no sign of stopping. I postulated this before, but is 16/12 a recipe for perpetual flowering? I am bound and determined to keep these on a 16/12 cycle to the end. What if these flowers never stop growing? Is it possible that 16 hours on is just below the threshhold for revegging, so these plants are always restarting the flowering process? Its food for thought i guess. Please comment on any theories.

I’ve got no theories, but I’m excited to watch your results.

Well im getting worried. It appears i went on vacation at the exact wrong time. The heat damage ambered out all the trichomes on the GSC leaves, so it has almost no smell but you can see they are completely covered in trichomes. The buds LOOK amazing to me. It seemed to limit flower production on the other 2 plants, but they seem to be behind the GSC by at least 2 weeks for some reason. I believe that the LED’s are giving me potassium deficiencies. Im just kind of down on this grow right now. Im betting i still have at least 6 weeks left, so maybe things will turn around. At any rate, i have my week 7 week update pics ready.

I had a down day yesterday, but im a little more optimistic today. Its just that two of the plants have buds that look like 4 week plants. But maybe they are like 4 week plants. They are super stacked, its just that all the bud sites look like popcorn. However, i wouldnt doubt one bit that these things have 10 weeks left. An awful lot can happen between now and then. So im trying to remain optimistic. The GSC is fattening up quite nice and could fill out like an auto by the looks of it. All of the limbs have buds extending down about 12 inches, so that might be a crazy looking plant.

I cant stop thinking about the previous grow that i documented here. I believe it was 12 weeks of 16/12 that I decided to switch to 14/14. During the 16/12, ALL of the pistils were still white. I didnt start getting amber pistils until i switched to 14/14. So i have wondered many times here that what if 16/12 keeps the plant in mid-flower permanently? Imagine the possibilities of that. That could mean that you could grow buds as big as you want until you are ready to stop. Wouldnt that be amazing? Imagine buds that are a foot wide. Its pie in the sky, but im 5 weeks from when i made the switch last time. This does take a ton of patience.

Nope i looked back and saw that i switched at 9 weeks. I think there were some brown pistils by then though, so at least i wont need to wait as long as i thought to see if there is a difference.

Good morning I got a speculation there, I thought theres a genetic limit or potential, any maybe your method will bring the plant to it’s maximum potential, while conventional schedule might not give enough energy… I dunno lol but got me speculating too. Im guessing it’s not becoming light stress anyway or else youd see problems so something’s working :+1:

That is always possible. It just extends the flowering time so much, that it seems impossible that it doesnt have some effect. Im certainly not saying that a grower with way more skill than me couldnt get the same results in half the time. But i search images constantly on google looking at where they are at 5 weeks, 6 weeks, etc just to get a good idea of other’s accomplishments. I feel like my results are right up there. And im so mad at myself that i had to switch to a 14/14 schedule last time instead of seeing it through to the end. I didnt even start this thread until the last grow was already at 8 weeks, so i still have a week before i can compare to the last one. I also read about strains, and most say that GSC is, at best, a medium producer, but it looks like it has the potential to put my last plants to shame. I cant wait to find out.

I can tell you one thing for sure. If i ever do 12/12, it will be a piece of cake to keep these things alive for 10 weeks. When you are talking about 15 weeks, it gets real hard to keep these in good health. I shouldnt complain. I bring this on myself.

Getting more optimistic. I was doing some comparison to my last grow. My Bay 11’s look like they may have bigger buds this time. The Grape Ape is still on the fence due to some elongation of several tops. But I had some pretty monster buds on one of my Grape Apes last time. But comparing the monster bud on my Grape Ape at eight weeks to the buds on my GSCs, I can say with certainty that the GSCs are bigger. Not to mention, the hairs on the GAs were already turning lime green at 8 weeks where these GSCs pistils are still snow white and packing on more every day. If the buds on the GSCs were ripe right now, they would be in line with nearly all of the images ive seen on the internet. They are not known for huge buds. In fact here is an excerpt:

If you’re in search of a cannabis strain that produces a high yield, the Girl Scout Cookies marijuana strain may not be your best choice. Its yield is moderate, which means it produces around 10 ounces per square meter when grown indoors.

Now the big difference is that ive managed to keep the GSCs in pretty good health throughout the grow. The other 2 had issues. If i can take a low producing strain like GSC, and grow very large buds on it, then i feel like i will have proven that 16/12 can increase yield by great amounts. The drawback is that it adds a great deal of time for flower. But i dont think im alone when i say that small buds suck. Its nice if they are dense, but it still feels like they didnt meet their full potential. I wish others would try it to see if their findings match mine.

is the biggest i can find that isnt an auto

Its time for week 8 update. GSCs are filling out nicely. The other 2 are just starting to fill out. The sativa is coming out in the Grape Apes. If the colas fill out they will be very long. Some look over a foot long. Still almost all white pistils, so there is bare minimum 5 weeks left.

I went too long and Grape Ape was super thirsty. Doesnt look so great right now. I dont know if this thing is cannabalizing itself or if its deficient or toxic. I dont have to worry about trimming fan leaves though. If the GA buds fill out, its going to get crazy. Nearly every top would have footlong buds, and there is about 100 tops on that plant. The Bay 11’s have kind of become the apple of my eye right now. It also has about 100 tops but there is much less leaf damage on it. You just graze that plant and you have to take a shower to get the smell off yourself. GSC’s have very little smell, but the buds are looking really nice. Kinda sucks! The specs are that GSC produces 10 oz per square meter, so its taking up about 40% of a square meter. So by that rationale, i should only get 4 oz off of it. I read that GSC buds swell to double their size in the last 2 weeks. Man if that is true, these are going to destroy the 4 oz expectation.

The messed up thing right now is that now nobody in the house smokes. Im kinda growing this for nothing. These things are going to sit in jars and cure for 2 years.

Holy crap guys! If these things fatten up, this going to be like nothing you have ever seen. I mean seriously these are insane. I cannot figure out what is wrong with my Grape Apes, but if i can keep them going, i could be looking at one and a half pounds from just that plant. To be fair, it is probably taking up a square meter on its own, but DAMN! There will be about 30 colas that are over a foot long, and 80 more that are 8 inches. 16/12 really screws with these things. I never squeeze my buds, but i had to squeeze the GSCs. They are so solid that its like squeezing granite. Im getting really excited! They are still putting out nothing but white pistils still. At close to 9 weeks, most people would be looking at an ocean of brown hairs and checking trichomes, but there is still probably 5 weeks left. I hope im not overhyping this, but there is no doubt in my mind that these are different than normal grows. Ive watched a ton of videos, and looked at tons of images, and these are not normal.
