Looks good! Well done.
Looks good to me
I use tomato cages in the same way only vertical
that is awesome!
Looks like an awesome set up!
Good job ![]()
Update and Question:
So the girls are trucking along nicely. I’m wondering at this point if I should do one more thining out and defoliation before these girls flip into full flower probably in about 2 weeks both of them are showing pretty strong signs of preflower but as you know the blueberry has been doing that for about a month and a half If not more.
What are your thoughts?? I’ve already started giving them some bloom nutrients since I’m doing all organic and it takes about 2 weeks to break down.

Dang @krismwright those ladies are turning out awesomely G! I’m not one to give advice to listen to yet but do give awesome compliments! lol
Really good job on these girls!…
If you don’t run the risk of wpm, I would wait a bit… when they have been flowering for 3 weeks, I would then defoliate whatever covers the lower buds… imo… ![]()
Less vegetation means more frequent watering… it’s a fine balancing act! ![]()
kaptain3d is spot on.
You and a few others have thought me well Monsieur @Covertgrower Ninja! ![]()

I park my car in the same garage. I saw your post, then went out and pruned/exfoliate a little as well. I have preflowers and little pubes going-thought I better hurry and clean up a little,at least.

And I will be taking his advice I’m thinking the middle to end of August should be a good time but I’ll have to monitor when these girls flip into full flower. From this point forward, I’ll post a pic up close of the nodes once per week and let you know when I think I should do it, just to get your feedback ![]()
Thank you!!![]()
I would defol on the first day of flower (as soon as you notice they’ve started to flower) and then again exactly 3 weeks later and then once again almost 4 weeks later…you’ll hardly notice each time but you will notice when your bud structure starts to blow your mind
When you defoliate how much do you typically take? It’s kind of difficult with this blueberry cheesecake because it’s very branchy like every branch has 50 little branches coming off of it. So I’m curious if I should be cutting these branches or just taking leaves none of them are really that big on the blueberry either. It’s almost a thinning out versus defoliate
I’ve been focusing the “thin out” up to the biggest bud on the branch…basing it off of how long I think I have until harvest and how long a particular bud might take or be worth keeping on the plant letting it still focus energy towards it….basically any leaves that are blocking any part of the inside main stem bud (cause on my 3’ plant the main stem is over halfway covered in all buds)….on the outer branches anything that’s damaged down to the lowest/oldest and biggest fan leaf then I stop….hopefully this makes sense….
Wow there quickly turning into huge bushes!
Update:
So it looks like the G13 finally caught up to the blueberry cheesecake in terms of preflower. Still waiting for the right time to get in there and defoliate probably gonna wait another 2 weeks or so. I got everything set up to add a second layer of support that will be much wider than the current one to support the upper canopy of the plant. It will be 24 in above the current one which should allow them to grow into it I think I should be good after that one though.
