1st grow - Og kush auto

Just a suggestion…I would the small buds and leaves from at least the bottom third of your girl. The leaves are blocked by upper leaves, the buds will not develop fully; both are sucking resources from the larger colas. IMHO it is better to have a few massive rockets than a bunch of little ones. You will find with harvest that you have enough weed to carry you over to the next harvest. Heck…I had enough from the first grow to last me 3 years

He would (trim/cut) them.
I skip words a lot too :joy:

It could be either the weed or Alzheimer’s, you decide

I have thought about thinning it out I’ve just been kinda lazy about it. It’s not a very tall plant so I didn’t think it would matter that much. But I agree a lot of those inner bud sites are not getting light and are less developed than the tops. I thought I might be too far along for it to really matter. Maybe I am wrong. Thinning it earlier might have been the better call. But doing it now may still have a positive affect. I’ll see how I feel and maybe post some pics later.

Hope you’re having a good day

Oh heck yeah I do that to. I’ll say the words in my head but forget to type them. It’s funny though I didn’t even really notice they skipped the wordss my mind just filled in the blank.

Hope you’re having a good day.

Anything your plant doesn’t feed to those leaves you’d take out, it will redirect towards the nearest source that needs it…

Hey one thing I noticed is sometimes I’ll take a bud site or stem only to find it growing back later. I guess I can just keep chopping the bits that come back? Is there a special way to cut it so it stops the thing from trying to grow back?

I always appreciate your tips and knowledge

Little suckers got clipped and said damn u I’m growing here

You can just pull em off.

Yeah that’s what I figured. I’ll rip em off later. On my first plant I had this tiny itsy bitsy little fan leaf growing out of the base of the stalk. Kind of neat

Examining the patient

Is it even possible to hack through this jungle. Not sure where to start

A good place to start is at the bottom. Start by stripping the lower third of the plant, that’s where you’ll usually get the larf. Then you’ll have a better picture of what is left and what you can tuck away from budsites or just take off.

I’m frustrated trying to move this big bitch around in the tent to trim it. I didn’t really wanna take it out but it’s the only way. Almost dropped the stupid thing

Ok well her she is. I think I did ok. I was sceptical of a few cuts I made but everything went in the hash bag. So it’s all good. I don’t think I hurt it too bad

That took over an hour jeez

Very good, you will not be sorry.

I just spent some time on my girl. It was time for watering, training, and defoliation.

You can see the leaf hanging down from LST, I trim these leaves as I bend branches, I also remove the small shoot with the leaf as it will not amount to much. I keep the small shoot that is growing in the proper orientation.

Here you see me pinching them off

This is that little shoot pointing up, it will become a cola

Part way done, you can see me training the branches. My ideal at this point in training is to create as flat of a canopy as possible. If left alone, Cannabis grows like a pine tree. This is called Apical dominance. The primary growth point is at the apex. By removal of that primary growth point you force the plant to develop two growth point on either side of the cut. continuing to strategically remove growth points results in a bushy plant with multiple growth points which become a relatively uniform set of colas and will increase yield.

This shows a shoot that is in the correct orientation, but I want to flatten it out to grow horizontally toward the edge of the pot and allow it grow 2-4 new shoots that will develop flower when I flip

I have a couple ways to tie down shoots. In this case, use a tent peg.

I use coated wire to gently tie down the shoots

I recommend visiting @kaptain3d’s page for his methods of training

Was thinking of thinning this to but I’m too lazy right now

You definitely have your training figured out. Thanks for sharing all that. I haven’t done any training yet. Maybe on the next round

You seriously need to raise those lights or find a way to lower the tops (supercropping)… The heat of the lights will “cook” most of the good stuff off. You will loose terpenes and may ruin a bunch of buds from the heat…

At this stage, supercropping isn’t ideal, but it’s better than losing most of your hard work so near the finish line.
What would you suggest @PogueMahone ?
