1st grow by Sydious! šŸ˜Š

If I could only figure out how to get Phineas Pogo (my gorilla glue) to finish up! Almost week 11 of flower, and still covered in white pistils and larfy budā€¦:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Some just take longer than others, my cream and cheese I just harvested took all of 17 weeks.

Do you mean 17 weeks of flowering? And is there something I could be doing to encourage her?

yup 17 of flowering, Iā€™m not entirely sure. You could probably use something to speed it up or mess with the lights, but I chose to let her finish naturally. Just watch for foxtails, I ended up harvesting the cream and cheese when I saw a few new pistils appear.

I believe I could use some advice on ā€œfinishingā€ my curring process @Hellraiser . I saw in multiple places in your journals where you detailed this curring process. I have all my buds in mason jars, with hydrometers, and have been ā€œburpingā€ once or twice a day.
The jars that have a noticeably higher RH, I leave open for 5 or 8 minutes(or however long it may take to change clothes, or seperate a pile of laundryā€¦ ect)ā€¦
Meanwhileā€¦ most of my jars are constantly at 60-62%
It seems I should leave them aloneā€¦?
Alsoā€¦ I seperated a half ounce from each plant I grew (for myself whenever it becomes federally legal) so I want to save it ā€œlong termā€ā€¦ once I get them to 62ish % could I just submerge them in hot water, till they seal, then freeze them?
Otherwiseā€¦ any aids would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone.
Be cool :sunglasses:

Iā€™ll jump in with how I store long-term, cause it works great.

I put the buds in a Ziploc. I put the Ziploc and a Boveda 62 Humipack in a Food Saver bag, and just put the air out (what I can). Then I seal the Food Saver bag, without applying any vacuum to the bag, so as not to crush my buds. Then the whole package goes into a cigar humidor, which has cigar humidifier juice.

So the Ziploc has more permeability than the Food Saver, and the Boveda makes sure that whatever permeability occurs is at 62% RH. And the humidity in the humidor stays aroud 65-68 RH.

Iā€™ve stored for at least 9 months, and still had good buds.

Yes, once they get to 58-62 RH, after a couple weeks of burping I just seal up the jars and leave them alone til time to smoke it.

Yep, freezing is great for long term storage, keeps it very fresh.

Thanks to both of you for the repliesā€¦ sorry for being late getting backā€¦ work has been non- stop the last couple daysā€¦
I think I will try the sealing and freezer method. I just donā€™t have the equipment yet for your method @Newt ā€¦ Iā€™ll add it to my shopping list

Good luck. Having never done the freezing method, that may well be better.

Iā€™ll try to remember to let you know, after I test bothā€¦ first I need a cigar humidor and food saver bags!:+1:

Good morning everyone and happy Christmas Eve. I havenā€™t posted in a little bit, just been super busyā€¦ that time of year I guessšŸ˜’ But I do have a few questions, I was hoping one of you could help with.

  1. I just finished up using my ā€˜Blue Planetā€™ nutrients and have decided to switch to Jacks. I will still be supplementing Si and Fish!t during feedings and Recharge once a week. Should I flush my plants before switching to a new nutrient line and is there any other additives I should be using?

  2. my Gorilla Glue from my first grow is still being stubborn. This is middle of week 14 flowering and still white pistils everywhere.

There is a picture of the plant as a whole and 2 closer shots of bud clusters. My question isā€¦ I read somewhere on here that this product ā€˜newmellinum winter frostā€™ would help finish plants up when they are being slow and stubborn. But Iā€™m unclear on how to use it. Do I mix with regular nutrients, if so, where do I add it to the mixing order? Orā€¦ do I start my 2 week flush and give this during that time? Or is it like Recharge, where I feed them then use additionally but independently?

If anyone is familiar with this product, any advice would help.

  3. this was my first attempt at a clone. She was from a ā€˜toppingā€™ from a plant already starting to pre- flower. She is rooting so I took her dome off last night. Butā€¦ there is a slight greenish mold or fungus on the surface of the soil. Should I be concerned with this?

Lastly. An update on the babiesā€¦ they are small and all flowering but seem healthy.

Hope to hear from yā€™all soon. And I Pray you and your families have a merry Christmas!

Doesnā€™t hurt to do so but not absolutely necessary.

Start it on the winter frost - it is a finishing agent so will help with that.

Winter frost is a pre-flush, used during the final week of feeding (with your nutes) before going water only for a week or 2. Yes mix it with your nutes, Iā€™d add it after nutes, before phā€™ing.

From their website - Use Winter Frost as a pre ā€“ flush the last 5 ā€“ 7 days of the flowering cycle before you start flushing for 7 ā€“ 10 days.

I believe @Mark0427 recently used Winter Frost, see what he says.

Most likely just algae, not a problem it will go away by itself shortly with more air since youā€™ve removed the dome.

Merry Christmas!

I have used it. It does seem to help tricom production. I used it by itself not exactly sure how to use but I mixed recommended amount on the first plant itself PhD and watered. It did seem to help the plant finish and stop shooting white pistils also the trics weā€™re alot more than before use of it. This go round I just did a water on the cheese clones last night gonna do a week of it but this time Iā€™m adding recommended amount of fulvic pwdr with it and see if any differences this way and next run Iā€™m gonna get the ruby fulvic of their brand and use it. It is supposed to be a killer mix but the winter frost is a great stand alone product I totally stopped nutes when I used it. Not sure if I am supposed to or not lol. I seriously need to get me a good feed chart for jacks with big bud bud candy fulvic tribus recharge all on the lost when to add and when to cut back the amounts to see if I can get foxtails under control. I think mine keep tailing from overfeeding. My plants can seem to grow and grow and grow unless I switch the nutes to water then it starts to look wonky but until I cut out all nutes it seems like they just keep going and going and going. Lol

Now I have buds from the mama cheese plant I harvested I did not use wf on Iā€™ll compare it to these clone plants I have going now I started the wf on and see if there is a difference in the dried product look and all. I got like 7 oz from the mama plant and have 4 clones with quite a bit but they r foxtailing pretty good. They did herm on me leaving well my wife leaving a far red light on 3 or 4 days thru flower kinda got me upset but hey mistakes happen lol. Buds r still about 2 inches round. Herms just recently broke out and the only plants in the room so I guess

Thanks for the info @Mark0427 , but ā€¦ is ā€˜foxtailingā€™ what is happening to me?
Alsoā€¦ you mentioned a few products that Iā€™ve heard a lot about but am unclear in thier use/purpose/ application.
Bud candy
Fulvic
Tribus (I do use Fish!t and think this may be a similar product)
I havenā€™t used any of these and would be greatly appreciative if someone could break them down for me.
Explain it like Iā€™m in kindergartenā€¦ with as much detail as possibleā€¦ I promise I wonā€™t be offended.
And againā€¦ merry Christmas to everyone and your families! Hope you all have a great holiday! :snowman_with_snow:

Well first merry christmas. Hope u have an awesome day big bud and bud candy are advanced nutrient suppliments. Big bud helps build the buds and bud candy is a sugar additive to help pound out the tricomes and taste and smell a bit more. They r really not needed in ways but they do seem to help quite a bit. I start adding bud candy at flower flip for 2 weeks then I add the big bud and bud candy til about week 8 to 8 depending on how it looks for doneness. I also is bud ignitor helps pout out more bud sites on the tree. That is before bud candy I start the day I flip with. Iā€™d ignitor do bud ignitor for a week then a week with bud candy then a week of bud candy no bud ignitor then add big bud so 2 weeks for each basically but finish out with big bud and bud candy til ur 2 week flush of u do

Hey yā€™all! Good morning and I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas. Myselfā€¦ by the time I finished putting the tree together, after my girls were in bed, the finished cleaning upā€¦ I was a little bit crooked. Then "accidentally " went online and ordered myself an ILGM mixed pack which includes 3x 10 seeds each of California Dream, Skywalker OG, and Bluedreamā€¦

Which leads me to my first questionā€¦ the ILGM site seems to dissuade from growing Skywalker OG indoors. Could someone explain this reasoning?

Alsoā€¦ check out this wierd (mutation? ) or is this something I should be concerned about? 1 finger leaves popping up everywhere on this little girl, and she has a sister shooting out only 3 finger leaves.

Alsoā€¦ I noticed a little bit of 'rusty ā€™ looking speckles on a few leavesā€¦ what is that?

Thanks in advance for any help or input.
Stay up!

When u fed last did u end up getting some runoff numbers?? That might tell alot on if there is a slockout of root issue. The leaves appear to be a bit dark and waxy looking might be a bit of excess nitrogen might want to cut back on the N part of the mix back it down a quarter turn lol.
