1st ever grow, come along for the ride

@Bracketh looking nice. Plan was to only do 2. However, had 1 day early and thought the 2nd was going to follow. So started 2 new seeds. Now i have 3 girls to try and stuff in my tent. Lol

It’s definitely going to be tight. Mine were 54 and 47 days old at flip.

Like I said, I’m still on my first grow, but if I were trying to squeeze 3 plants in. I would go with 1 gal bag and flip early. Instead of planning for double height and width for stretch, plan on having triple. Hope that makes sense. Lol

Unfortunately i cant flip them as they are autoflowers.

Oh wow! Yeah you are going to be busting the seems

Morning peeps. Hope everyone is doing good. Quick question, when do y’all normally water? Just wondering if it makes a difference or not.

I water as soon as lights come on. I feel that’s the best way to keep the RH down.

I water everyday right when lights are coming on or just about to. But I am in coco so I must water every day after the first week or2.

Happy Saturday everyone. So my space problem has fixed itself. The 2 seedlings died. So im down to just 1. However that 1 is doing good and looking healthy (I think). I need to get better at getting seedlings to not die. Currently my record is only 25% at getting past seedling

I do have a question i need some guidance on. Is there something going on that i need to worry about? There are a few leaf tips kind of curling down. Just want to know if its something i need to check into or am i just worrying because I’m a noob? Any way heres pictures. Any advice is welcome.

We got to find out why you’re having a hard time getting past seedling stage. How often are you watering? What kind of soil are you using? Are you letting the soil dry out before watering again? MJ likes a wet/dry cycle. If you dont let the soil dry out before watering again it can cause the plant to have issues. Seedlings should not require watering every day

@plumbdand yea. Pretty sure i was overwatering when i started the 1st 2 seeds. Had 1 die when i tried to switch it to different cup of soil. Thought 2nd was going to die as well but she recovered quite well after being put in new soil. Started 2 new seeds when 1st died. 2 new ones died i believe because i only had a tiny little drain hole in bottom of cup.

Still trying to learn how much to water them when they are tiny. Wasnt watering everyday, probably every other day. Ill get better eventually.

Started off using pro-mix soil. Am now using Happy Frog from Fox Farms.

When they’re tiny they only need a couple of tablespoons of water every couple of days. Water in a circle around the plant but not directly on the stem. You want the roots to grow outward to reach the moist soil. If you’re using solo cups cut 4 holes in the bottom edges

Appreciate the advice. Will absolutely remember that when I start my next run.

that curl looks like too much wind or heat. Usually wind will hook them under and heat will cup them up. The color is a little light though, unless it is the light above it…maybe some nitrogen would be helpful for that?

@TransplantedFarmgirl thanks for the info. Did raise my lights up last night. Looked this morning and the tips are no longer curling.

Looking for advice. Should i be trimming the bottom leaves off? Or let it ride for a bit 1st? Also i started using the ac infinity self watering base, opinions on if they are good.

Looks good grow bro! I personally would bend her over and stake her top down to spread her out some and allow the bottoms to catch to the top.

Also here is a post I had the other day on the ACI bases. If you search up top for self watering it pops will all sorts of post on these and other systems.

I cut low leaves off if they are too close to the soil. Or I end end splashing nute water on them.

@4204life has a good point. If they are touching/too close to soil, more chance of problems.

With the ACI self watering bases - for my second grow, I used them all the way through, from beginning to end. I saw some crazy growth during veg, compared to my first attempt. While I used different strains from my first, the difference in height and bud sites is too much to just chalk up to strain types. I’ll show below in pics. You’ll notice I had the self-watering base in the old/shorties pics. But I added them WAYYYYY late…

I tend to pour a gallon of RO water in the bases, once a week - I still combine with some top watering, just bc I use living soil and don’t want to dry out the top. I’m really happy with these bases. It’s probably not as good as some of the top-watering systems, but I can go away for a few days without worrying too much:)

Been a minute since I’ve had a chance to do an update. Been crazy busy at work. So far I am liking the self watering bases. I still check everyday. When i notice the base empty i wait 24-48 hrs before i refill.

Have question for those that may know. Noticed a couple leaf issues. Want to know what it could be and how do i address the issue.

Info i can give:
Soil is FFHF. Use distilled water ph’d to 6.7.
Have not used any nutrients so far.
