About to harvest and haven’t talked about such things online in a long time. My wife loves the result of my efforts in the tent, but the results are the extent of her interest! Will I start a grow journal and stick with it? We shall see!
I’m in my late fifties and been growing since my early twenties. Thrown good money after bad, been outdoors, indoors, closets, spare rooms, garages, run ebb/flow hydro, dirt, soiless, Lucas formula, fluorescents, CFL, metal halide, ceramic MH, dual MH/HPS, even built my own HPS light in the very early days! I’ve acquired seeds from friends, been to Amsterdam and mailed them to myself, ordered from the Attitude UK in their early days and most recently from ILGM.
I cut my teeth on Sensi Seeds Northern Lights and it’s been a mainstay in the rotation ever since. Most recently have had a few runs with ILGM Grand Daddy Purple. Found one I like and have cloned and crossed with an NL male…looking forward to seeing how those seeds turn out!
I got married nine years ago and we’ve built our forever home. Built in grow room? No. But a well insulated 700 sq ft climate controlled garage/shop that is a great lung room for my 3x3 Spider Farmer tent (never had as much environmental control as I do now). Currently running MIGRO ARAY3 LED, two 4" inline vent fans/carbon, two Vivosun clip on circulation fans, Vivosun monitor/controller, Vivosun grow camera, and hand water from 58 gallon barrel I mix my nutrients in. There’s a dehumidifier in the shop and an ARAY2 out of the tent for seedlings, cuttings and overwintering outdoor house plants.
Years of trial and error, reading books, comparing notes with grow bros, but God bless the advent of YouTube and the pièce de résistance, finding the research of Dr. Bruce Bugby and the Utah State University Medical Cannabis lab. I finally ponied up the money for their course last year, which confirmed a number of things I thought and got me lined out on the rest of what matters. There’s a lot of Bro-science out there, spoiler alert: you don’t need it!
Well, this has gotten quite long, maybe I’ll see if there’s an introduction thread somewhere. Anyway, thanks for reading this far! See you around the safety meeting.
