Yield of Gorilla Glue

Lots of light, including under-lighting and UVA (about 800 watts in total in a 3x3 tent) topping the plants to 8 branches each and growing big plants that were almost 5 feet tall, great nutrients (the whole Advanced Nutrients line) and my house has elevated CO2 levels from 5 adults, 2 big dogs, 3 cats and all that CO2 rich air goes thru my flowering tent before being exhausted outside. I also give my plant lots of love and they love me back with large harvests. 30 years of growing experience also helps quite a bit.

Pulled over 30 oz of big dense buds from this grow, probably a record for a 3x3 tent, I was shooting for 2 pounds

@Hellraiser 30 years experience… :smirk::smirk: it all makes sence …lol… hey man I see you do your thing …I’ve only been growing weed for 2 years actively and a year vicariously… but I see alot of the things you i look up and research about come out of your mouth shortly aafter… so I feeling I’m on the right thought process… I’ve grown fruit trees for last 10+ years which is much easier outside then weed inside… which I bet weed outside would be easy ecspecially in florida … csnt wait till I got 30 years experience growing weed I’m only 33 so its definstley doable :metal::sunglasses::metal:

Yes it definitely gets easier the more time in as I’ve already seen and tried most things related to marijuana growing, cloning, drying and curing methods, how to get big yields in small spaces - pretty much my specialty. So I’m mostly on auto-pilot through the grows unless I get something new to play with like UVA or the micropropagation that you brought up in another thread that I’ll be doing in the near future.

Like anything else in life, put in the time and the results follow, it’s like that 10,000 hour thing, want to be good at playing guitar? Put 10,000 hours into it and learn from the best and you’ll be good at playing guitar, works the same for pretty much everything as well.

You got that right! I’ve been growing for about 3/4 years myself but I have Never gotten over 3oz., Unfortunately! However, I’m beginning to think it’s the Strain White Widow because that’s was the only one I was growing Until this grow of GG and I can tell a big difference in the weight and don’t have to keep using more product and it’s a better Medicine :100::bangbang:. Right now I’m going to harvest my 1st non-auto of Chocoloupe and I’m very anxious and curious how she’s going to turn out. Fingers Crossed

You will have to tell me your secret on growing in small places and getting a huge yield. I’ll take all the advice to work!!

Excuse me but Damn that’s Awesome!! I’m so jealous and kinda hate you right now, lol… Truly Great GROW

Yeah that was my biggest yield in a 3x3 tent so far, 3 Gorilla Glues and 1 of my own strain Cherry Ice Cream clone (in the back left side).

I normally yield around 6 oz per plant when not going for a max yield grow like that one.

Here’s my favorite strain to grow and smoke - Cherry Ice Cream, a very potent strain I developed over the last few years:

Wow you got them dialed in perfect… not the tips of the fan leaves… sliightly… discolored.m thatd right where you wsntnyourbnutenlevels to be… it’s called painting the nail… I really like the looks of the strain my man… I would love to fill a tent with them beitys… what kind of work have you done with these babys to refine?.. I’m sure you plan on micropropin it to refine even further huh… my favorite was recon

. I would like to do some work on it I have about 400 seeds I got from an ounce and a half and grown nothing but solid bangers… sweet fruity gas …and packs a whaaalllop and a half… best weed I’ve had smoked it grown…happy to get a bag full of seed… I’m sure bot the best but it’s the best most consistant plants I’ve grown and I only grown bag seed in my carrer… it has made me a firm believer in power of genetics alone…I’ve worked the hell out of a couple bag seed strains I’ve had quite a few seeds of and I just cant seem to get some of them past a certain quality and after 5 full harvest my hard headed ass attributes it to me disrupting there home mid flower… and other mistakes of.mine but really I’m realizing its Gene’s because I’ve also done near flawless with full line of emerald harvest (advanced nutrients chemist made there own line with some cool new products… you no it’s good there calmag has kelp lol) and still very similar results … so I had to throw in the towel and realize if I dont got breeding going on to add something to the plant it’s not gonna change much grow to grow :sunglasses::metal:

Yes us “old school” growers always pushed the nutes til slight leaf tip burn, that’s when you know you’re pushing just enough nutes. Slight tip burn with no clawing is about as close to perfection as we can come.

I crossed the 2 most potent strains that I had ever come across to make the Cherry Ice Cream strain, both were clone only strains that I and a grower friend had acquired - a very strong Cherry Do Si Do on my end that was the stickiest plant I ever came across and my friend had a cut of Ice Queen that was amazingly powerful and had some the heaviest trich coverage I’ve ever seen but was a low yielder with small buds. I used STS to make male flowers on a Ice Queen clone and pollinated a Cherry female, I grew out the seeds (a couple dozen) and found the best of the bunch
and she is my Cherry Ice Cream, the best weed I’ve ever smoked for pain relief, insomnia, or just a great night time smoke with a very rich taste and very powerful head and body buzz. Not something I’d smoke in the morning as you might as well go back to bed but it’s my favorite night smoke. I would like to clean her up a bit thru micropropgation when I can clear some space to setup a lab. The problem with keeping clone moms long term is that they can get viruses and suffer a loss of vigor which I believe can be cleared up with micropropagation.

I’ll be starting another grow journal soon where I grow my Cherry clones and make some feminized seeds so I can explore more of what’s in her genetics, see if I can find an even better specimen, or at least have her genetics “backed up” in seeds, just in case.

Right on man that’s just what I’d like to do… wanna find one more strain with regulars and catchable male … If i were to breed… I would preferably find a male …do you think pushing unfavorable condition in the germination would increase male tendencies in stead of sts later in life… like find a batch of regulars I like and grow a handful in say colder water shot glass…with no peroxide no hormones cooler dome tenps… things like that… I feel all those push female from seed at 250 regulars I only got 6 males 0 herms

There must be something to it to get those kind of female/male ratios sometimes and sometimes get mostly males (happens).

Some growers say the more stable the environment - temps, humidity, regular light cycle, less daylight hours (16/8), and even constant nutrition will increase female ratios from regular seeds. I don’t know if that’s entirely true but sounds good. Some will tell you that the sex has already been determined in the seed when the seed developed - like feminized seeds, that sounds good as well and we know that works as the vast majority of sold fem seeds will indeed be female, though with more chance of hermies.

I wish I knew more on that subject. When I grew regular seeds (have not in a few years) I had grows where 70% were male, which really sucked and also where 70-80% were female, all in the same good stable environment I always provide so not sure why there would be such a spread if environment is really a factor in plant sex. I will to have to experiment with it when I get back to growing regular seeds, which I plan on doing in the near future.

Do you use any lil due hickeys or hormones or peroxide?

I also believe that it could be predispositioned like feminized or improper polinizacion well most male or some other in desirable trait like mutant or simply not getting past the cotyledons but either way if they’re Pollinated correctly and have a Fighting Chance it seems like environment can sway
Also it’s been over atleast 15 16 strains all worked into those ratios untill I get a high ratio male to female …that’s using a couple drops of hormex and a couple drops of super thrive per shot glass … iba … napthaleneacetic acid b1 kelp… and triacinol which is a alfalfa awsomeness

Not in the last couple decades, first decade I probably tried every trick and snake-oil and mega pk booster that was out there to try to get bigger & better harvests, mostly without good results. I have nothing against peroxide but I don’t use it. These days I just plant my seed in the medium (coco now) without any pre-soak or anything else and have been getting great germination rates with it.

At some point I realized there is no magic potion and that the best harvests and quality buds come from very healthy plants so I just focused on keeping plants as healthy as possible while maximizing light, ventilation, and proper nutrition (without over doing it) and keeping a very healthy growing environment. Then over the years experimented with ways to get more yield, tried different topping, FIM, defoliation methods til I got to what I do now and I’m very happy with my yields - I grow too much to smoke so give 2/3 of it away and still have a few pounds around the house at all times and quality of my buds which is without question.

Hell yea I’ve come to that conclusion… not every batch of seeds is a homerun… found that out with trial and error… I had about 4 strains that i had ALOT of seeds of Purple haze… Gsc…GG4…Recon…
I grew Ph Gsc several times always thinking I can do somethi g better add something I’m screwing things up bllah blah…then came across recon … got same treatment … fire… in my head im thinking they need a lil my tlc… recon just liked those rstios… no… its genetics… just because you got the regular seeds from some strait funk… I’m taking like rediculesly good memeroble weed… dosent mean the pollination was
A… from a male of same strain
B. Was even pollinated at a good time to where the seeds fully developed…not all flowering bud is really the healthiest of plants… seeds might suffer…
And I realized reason you dont waste time growing bag seed because maybe 1 out of 20 to 30 seed will be a plant you really are wowed by… and this a sad realization to be because I grew seed after seed couple at a time and wasent really aware of the importance of pheno hunting… or importance for that matter… I’m glad to know now before I keep dropping purple haze hoping for the golden goose… it was good but nothing to write home about… recon on the other hand … love em… @Gremmall @PurpNGold74 @Haildamaged @OldSchoolGrower received a few from me and grew them out and really liked them in all catagorys… is it the best no but it’s damn good good enough to want to grow it again… nice to have a couple hundred and a couple different grow styles behind them with success… so I think there stable …

Exactly, I purchased 20 GG and only 10 came up. All were treated the same, nothing different was done to them. Really confused why 10 came up and 10 didnt? The ones that did sprout took a week. Very disappointed.

My last grow, of zkittles ((20) was a 90% germination and 5 plus lb dried. Seeds came up in a few days. It was the same process as I used for the GG.

All my Banana K germinated 100%. Same process as I used for the GG. Seeds came up in a few days. It was the same process as I used for the GG.

Puzzled?

So far I’m 0/2 on ggaf. They took for ever to pop. Forever to break soil. Then died 2 days later. On the other hand I popped 2 bag seeds using same technique and they are going strong…well except for they are a tad bit stunted. Middle of 3rd week above ground and only 2 nodes.
