Yellowing continues, is this a Mag. Issue?

So are you top feeding them until their roots reach the water?

This is my 1st run, maiden voyage in rough seas.
I still top water early morning and evening after work. I did not see any bubbles emitting from my stone this morning, didn’t register with me then, could this be an issue even thou the roots look snow white?

What magnification is your loop… you need at least 60x to 100x zoom capability…
The newest pic that you posted looks suspect for a bug issue as well…
Right now your squirting water at them like a top feed… so when your roots hit the water you should be changing things over to where the water only runs through the tubes… is that your plan…?

air pump or circulating pump.?

is the rock wool dry’ish and ready for watering twice a day.?
if not, she may be over-watered (a gardening term, deprivation of oxygen at the root zone)

the root tips extending into the channel probably love the 90+% RH in the tubes.!
that’s why they r bright white and fuzzy.!
smell the bottom of the net cup/s,
if there is any indication of mold, mildew, or rotten smells we need to investigate further…
(i seriously doubt there will be that bad of a problem!) (easy test to perform tho!)

@SlowOldGuy @peachfuzz @MattyBear @Covertgrower. Loop is 20/60 I will look again this evening for any type of bugs -yikes . Hadn’t planned on changing the hoses from the way the water feeds now, didn’t not come across this in my research leading up to this. I’m guessing it will not work correctly if I leave it as is it is? The pump is a circulation pump, the rock wool isn’t dried out, but I wouldn’t say saturated either, the 1/4 hose butts right up against the rockwool and waters every 4 hours, I can easily pull a cup out and check it, good call

The way that you are describing how you have things setup , tells me that your rockwhool is staying to moist for to long , which is going to lead to major issues in the future … once roots are out of the net pots your definitely going to want to kill the top feed…
The trunk of the plant needs to be dry or else it’s going to damp off and die… what size are those tubes? 4" or 6" ? Hopefully 6" … if not , your going to have to throw them into flower when there young or else your going to run into roots clogging the pipes and then other plants will start to suffer … that system is meant for super fast turn around… clones that only get to 8 to 12 inches and then you flip them … that’s why the majority of those systems you see have like 10 tubes with 20 plant sites per tube under a couple of HID’s all jammed together…
Definitely not for seed growing or plants of any real size…

@peachfuzz. Yes the tubes r 6 inch. Dangit, so what are the chances of getting the Rockwood away from the roots now without severe damage, the roots are all entangled in it. Changing the feed location may be the only option

No dont RIP the plants out of the rockwhool…
Set your timer for 15 minutes once in the morning and once at night…
Once roots hit the bottom of the tube just hook up a new line from the pump that will drop the water at the beginning of the tubes…
At this point it’s just a rescue mission…
As long as you don’t have any bug issue , you should be able to get these plants to harvest… it’s just going to be a little bit of a pain in the @$$…
And just let the pump water from now on… if its shooting at the rockwhool then theres no need to top water by hand…

@peachfuzz is right, leave the rockwool on. I have torn it off clones before but on clones, where the roots meets the stem, the plant is much heartier than seedlings.

Thank you for that explanation @peachfuzz! I appreciate you man :v::bear:

@peachfuzz @MattyBear @TDubWilly @SlowOldGuy @Covertgrower so I removed a basket of the worst looking plant and it didn’t smell musty however the roots did have a slight tint to them on the tips of this one, the rock wool was saturated and no bubbles in the reservoir. Just as all of you said, a root issue, over watering, essentially drowning them. I turned off the watering cycles for all of tomorrow and until they dry out, hopefully they will bounce back and give me another opportunity to grow them as they deserve. You guys are the best, thank you all for staying with me on this and knowing what you know and sharing with all of us. My loop only goes to 60x but I didn’t see anything that looked like bugs only the burnt looking areas. The little blue flake in the picture is a piece of pipe shaving,

don’t worry man, adjust the watering schedule and they will recover and be just fine,
this little speed bump won’t effect them much.!

try to do this on your day off,
when the rock wool gets dry your plants will wilt quickly, like being in a hydro system, LOL,
death can come with in hours of the wool being completely dry,
if u have to work tomorrow just adjust the timer up from 4 to on every 6 or 8 hours.!

u r welcome Okie, it is a pleasure to assist.!
forgot to mention that all ILGM advice comes with a price to pay…
in the near future, we expect lots of pics of juicy colas.!!! LOL…

@SlowOldGuy will be my pleasure to provide that picture, love it even better if I could share the harvest and let everyone watch me dump my damn pills out and have enough medicine of my own - affordable. Yes I am a bit stress with the hydro at this point, yet all selfinflicted and my ignorance, to think I studied for months and waited nearly 50 yrs. to start this.

i would pull the handle and flush em for you, damn pharmaceuticals.!!

a ā€˜soil’ grow woulda been a bit easier to do, but since starting with NFT i would try to tuff it out and learn from every grow.!
i have never grown in any hydro, probably will one day tho.!

as mentioned before…
try to get clones or start your own mother/clone room,
do more of a SoG style grow with lots of little plants,
the NFT system does not like big plants, this is why it is popular with lettuce and greens growers.!
hate to say this, but…
if seedlings r your only way, ditch the NFT and go with ā€˜soil’.!!
u can always go back to hydro someday.!

if this helps…
i run a Sea of Green in a very small 5.5 sq ft flower room that holds 20 plants,
also have an identical veg/momma/clone/seedling room 25" x 32" x 42" tall,
4 plants get harvested and 4 go into flower every 2 weeks,
i take 8 clippings (100% success rate), transplant 6 of the most uniform clones into 9 oz clear cups (do not use clear), then 4 of them go into 1 gal pots to veg for another week and off to the bloom room.

SoG is not for everyone, it can be done in short tents and has a very fast turn around, but it is high maintenance,
lots of cloning and transplanting.!

@SlowOldGuy thank u for sharing your setup. i love it LOVE it and Cloning and running the perpetual grow is also my plan and close to the same time span. If i can just get these seedlings to take and have a good grow to pick clones and something to restart with, already had my fill with seedlings.

@peachfuzz @MattyBear @SlowOldGuy @Covertgrower @TDubWilly Good morning all, so I followed up with a 1/4 dose of feeding of my GH trio and 1/2 dose of GH cal-mag. Watered 2x daily right now. This morning water temp is 70.4 ph-6.18, ppm 504, room temp 77, humidity down @46, humidifier insert tank wasn’t lined up properly and wasn’t feeding water, that’s fixed. So pictures will show what I see this am. The rust, brown spots still apparent and showing on plants that didn’t have them, leaves feel dry and some curing up on tips and one was crumbly and crisp. Lights are @ 33" iplantop 2000w led, 420w draw- to close? Rockwool of the few Iooked at was saturated, timer watered @ 9am for 30 minutes and last night @9. Picking up a 15min timer today, to run less as @peachfuzz does. I feel they looked worse today. Roots just all laying in Basket bottom, not working down thru it yet, checked extensively for pests and see nothing thru 60x loupe. Is there a phone app that is better I should use? What are your thoughts of them today

I would continue what your doing for now…
Roots aren’t growing down because the rockwhool is to wet so roots aren’t looking for water… maybe have timer only run once a day instead of twice… that should help…
They will grow out of this…
