Wwa & cbd-First week! Progress pics šŸ˜

I will add a different view here. Especially if this is your first go round in coco. I would definitely use 5 gallon pots. For 2 reasons. 1, you can skip a day of feeding if you ever have to. 3 gallons will need watered every day as they dry out fast. Second, in a 5 gallon. You have a better cushion if you are top feeding. Your roots will fill a 3 gallon pot fast. I have gotten root bound in a 3 gallon before. I still use them. But only on plants I am sure will stay small. Or if in autopots. I am guessing you got the viagrow bricks? If so. That brand did well for me. It is harder to get here now. And amazon wants way to much for them now. I think you will like coco though

Ok… well I have an extra light so I may take a few clones in a month or so and then flip these clones to 12/12. If I were to keep these in 1gal fabric pots, how long do u suppose I have before flipping them to flower?

I haven’t started coco yet! As soon as I pop my next seeds I plan to give it a shot tho! I’m excited! I think the brand is burpee? I don’t have auto pots. Idk what to get either. I just have a few sizes of fabric pots. I have some time to get it together tho! I’ve started researching. Now I just need to get whatever supplies I need. I have a month or two before I give it a try.

There’s nothing wrong with leaving them in 1 gallon pots for an entire grow. They will just require being watered a lot. But they are ready to be flowered whenever you want. If it were me, I would probably flip them a couple weeks from now. But that’s just me.

Got it. @dbrn32 would be my go to for 1 gallon pots. He is a sog guy, so he knows his stuff  I wi :grin:ook into that more. It seems like that coco may contain a lot of salt for the few reviews I have read. That just means you will want to flush it really good before using it. No big deal

@dbrn32 you think if I flip them in a few weeks I’ll be able to get a couple clones also?

@Not2SureYet awesome, thanks! I havent even read about that brand of coco yet lol I just saw it and made an impulse buy honestly. It’s only $2 something a brick. I haven’t seen it anywhere else locally. And that was a few towns over so I thought ā€œwhy notā€

Probably as long as things continue to go well.

Ok guys another question.

I’m having a hard time watering everything. It takes a lot of work and time. I’m trying to get everything dialed in but it’s chaos trying to water w my 1 gallon sprayer :woman_facepalming: I have a 5 gallon bucket. How can I get my water ready ahead of time and easily pour it (carefully). What kind of pump would I need to keep it aerated? Is there something I could put in the bucket to transfer the water to the plants? I can hand water. It doesn’t have to be automated. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I can actually get another bucket too. So I could have bloom nutes, veg nutes for the different phases they’re in. Or plain water in one? You get my drift… it’s just getting harder and it’s exhausting lol

@Nicky those things are expensive!! I looked it up last time u mentioned it. I would LOVE to have some if they were cheaper!

Here’s what I do: I keep 6 buckets (Homers with lids) in the grow space. My water supply is the shower across the hall so buckets get filled there. I drop an airstone in and let it run for 8 to 12 hours and I also rotate oldest water.

When I mix nutes (Jack’s) I place this in the bucket:

They draw less power than an air stone and once mixed you can drop one in to keep it from going stale.

I dip a plastic long spout pitcher and top water with that:

I use the wavemaker in mixing nutes too: the Part A takes a while to dissolve so can walk away for 30 minutes before resuming.

There are automated watering systems for your plants that aren’t particularly expensive (under $50 plus a pump) that cycle on a built in timer. Dump pump in bucket and Bob’s your Uncle haha!

@Nicky also, I already have three big ass plants in flower under a net and i wouldn’t be able to transfer anything right now. The 7 clones are all potted up too. That would be a mess. :joy:

@Myfriendis410 what do air stones hook up to?

Here’s my current journal if you are interested:

They have a 10% off these stones when u buy that pump, these ok?
@Myfriendis410

And can I only hook 2 up? It says it hooks up 6, just making sure

Nvm, I just noticed the stones u posted are cheaper for 4

Yeah; the blue stones produce a better atomized bubble stream.

The more you hook up the less air goes to each one. With that pump I’d run no more than 4: I have the same one. I also have a smaller one that I use with one stone to dechlorinate my buckets. I just do one at a time.

Ok I think I have everything… do I need more pipe to hook the air stones up to the pump?
