Would like some help with transplanting and burying the stem a bit

Using organics there is no reason or need to flush. Organic nutrients have to be processed by the microbes in the soil which will naturally balance things for you at the roots.

I wouldn’t be too concerned. It’s probably just organic material washing out, another reason not to flush organic soil.

Mid 40’s is fine as long as they don’t stay there fro days at a time. Mostly your concerned about the roots freezing. You can bring them in at night, but you have to be very careful that they still get good darkness or it can hinder flower or even cause hermies. If your going to bring them in put them somewhere completely dark. Bring them in as the sun goes down and put them out when the sun comes up.

40 is a little cold for drying and you want to avoid light as much as possible. Natural light can degrade you end product.

@Gl1tch Thank you for the info… you definitely alleviated my concerns!
It completely slipped my mind about the lights. Wow.
Just in case as far as our spotlights or porch lights, they’re essentially in a tent… made of cut contractor bags hanging through half the porch hahaha. Sucks taking em down in the morning, hanging em at night but it works great. Temps are still unpredictable though. To keep away from uv I’ll have to come up with a little extra something.
I hadn’t thought of organic vs chemical either. Absolutely makes sense. I gotta ask, iyp is it an ok idea to continue feeding until harvest? They’re pretty close, maybe two or three waterings at most.
—I haven’t seen one forum post out there regarding flushing and what kind of nutes are actually being used. That’s great information!—

I usally dont feed the last week or two. The nutritional requirements go down and there is some nutrition in the soil to finish them out.

I suppose this is more of an update. I am hoping this can become a beginners tutorial rather than transplant directions. And some major tangents haha. But please! I would love some comments or recommendations!

Plants were looking nice but temps were getting way too cold and plants seemed to stop growing but they had decent amber. As well using a smal space heater for colder nights but i worried about drying them out. Fortunately they held up well.
They have been harvested  . They hung for 4 days and now trimming- a lot! Oh boy a lot!
I hung em sorta node by node, making a V for easy hanging. Except for colas which are alone. Flowers are a bit on the smaller side and frankly quite fluffy. But I’m happy with them so far. They’re so covered in triches they look silver haha.
They’re now drying. I’ve kept them in a very dark area, spaced out to avoid mold. Using a space heater on low cuz of the low temps here but I’m hoping they haven’t dried too quickly. In fact, two plants seemed dry enough and I’ve jarred them. Two others still feel a bit damp. I do have that hay smell… i do assume curing will help this?
I have some boveda packs(58% which I’m hoping is best??), and cheap-ish hygrometers coming in tomorrow.
Any opinions on what i have done right/wrong? Possibly any opinions on the best practices to go from here?

For the most part as long as they don’t freeze they will be fine. Mine was getting low 40’s high 30’s at night for quite some time before I chopped her. The last couple weeks they won’t grow really, but the buds bulk up significantly.

This is how I do my harvests for even drying, but in an uncontrolled environment it will speed the dry time. You might consider drying the whole plant and waiting till its dry to trim next time to slow things down a little. You can use the snap test to determine when to jar. Fold a branch slowly in half if it doesn’t make a sound then it’s not ready. If it snaps in half you went a little long and (after 24hr in the jar) should check to see if it needs re hydration. The sweet spot is when the branch crackles but doesn’t break.
Once jarred you may need to burp. If you get the dry spot on (or way too far for that matter) you won’t need to burp as much or at all. I would pull the boveda pack out. I don’t use them at all, but when I have played with them in the past I found they don’t work well if the product is too wet or dry. I even molded a half oz of dry ice keif cuz I forgot to check it.They do a far better job of maintaining moisture content than add or removing. Not to mention you need to let fresh air in for chlorophyll (hay smell) to decay. You can use those hygrometers in the jar to know when to burp. When it gets over 65% burp it back down below 60%. This process can help get rid of some of the chlorophyll smell if you did dry too fast, but it may not get rid of all of it. When the jar maintains 60% you can seal them up for long term storage. If you want to use the boveda at this point you could, but I don’t fell they are needed. I store week for years without them. They can be nice if you can’t fill the jar or in a jar that gets opened often. Grats on your first harvest, you’ll have to let us know how it smokes when it’s done drying.

Trim jail sucks. I usually bribe my friends to come help. I have a couple hours ahead of me tonight. Fortunately I spaced my outdoor and indoor some so I’m not trimming for a week straight

Weed dried in 4 days will smell hay. It dry but clorophyll needs breaking down. Slow the drying aim for 10 days. The hay smell will be less guve er more time. Congrats on a harvest!

Thank you! Much appreciated!
Yes sr… a bit hay-y. I do have them jarred but have kept them open for a few days. I’ve been leaving them open for 20+ hours. Just closed for an hour or two to check hygrometers. Hay smell is subsiding nicely :-).
Occasionally two have been close to 70 so i dumped em and let them dry a couple days further. I think they’re doing alright :-).
I don’t have a weight yet but i may a little later and update. For the cost and all, heavily trimming, seems yield is kinda low. They didn’t have the greatest setup, started late, beginner grower of course haha. Dunno. It’s my first grow so i suppose it’s a success no matter how ya really look at it.
Took me about 6 hours of trimming btw haha. I could’ve left a bunch on but i wanted good appeal.
May make some hash with the trim

Sounds like you’ve got a decent handle on it. I wouldn’t worry about weight just yet. As you learn the ropes in your first few grows your yield will probably improve exponentially.

A good temple ball is my favorite concentrate by far.

So a ‘finished up’ update :-).
Gotta start by thanking everyone who helped with all the fantastic advice. Priceless info!

The yield was quite low.
We had 4 plants and altogether achieved 3.76ozs … oooofff.
I’ve had them jarred for a good month now and quality is pretty dang nice. Of course not dispensary but not far from it truly. Interestingly all 4 have different traits when smoked too. Some hay taste but not terrible… more terp but still there.
SO ALTHOUGH POSITIVE, I have seeds!!! Very healthy seeds but very few. They were feminized buti ended up with hermaphrodites! Wtf? 2/4 plants have been found so far. Could this have been a reason for stalled bud growth towards the end? Trichs we’re very nice but growth did stall.
I do plan on trying hash. Temple ball seems pretty interesting. I figure I’ll use the massive amount of clipping and maybe bud from the smallest plant. Cold water is planned.
Idk how the hell i got seeds man. Def blew my mind when a family member found maybe a dozen from a 1/2oz. I found 1 while breaking up another plant briefly.
Again all you guys, thank you so much! Y’all fantastic!

Sorry for the extra post.
Could someone point me in the direction of a moderator? I would like to inquire if the title could be changed
It was quite the journey. Nearly a whole beginner growth has been journaled here

I bet your quality and yield will steadily improve as you gain experience. Didn’t you have your plant’s on the back porch by the windows. I seem to remember discussing possible light pollution problems a while back. It’s takes very little light to disrupt flowering. That’s the most likely reason for a hermie. Keep in mind that feminized seed are more likely to hermie than regular seeds. Feminized seeds are made by forcing a female to hermie and then using the pollen from the hermie to fertilize. Since there is no male to pass on a Y chromosome, the seeds produced must be female.

It didn’t help, but I think you had a number of factors that limited your plant’s.

I believe @dbrn32 can help you there.
