White moss covering the soil

have 5 super skunks approx. 6 weeks old growing in a greenhouse, moved them inside today because it was too hot in the greenhouse for them, they all had a white moss like covering the soil, unfortunately I panicked and took it all off before taking a picture but anyone have an idea what it might have been? looked like looking down on a foggy area, my son thought maybe some kind of spider.

Depending on your soil , could just be the beneficial fungi taking off if just on the soil surface.
If it was spider webbing I’d think it’d be up into the plant as well.

Prob just beneficial fungi. Just means you have good healthy soil.
