So far so good!

I still have to install the exhaust and fans in the new tent… debating if I want to run extension cords or wait for my electrician to wire me more outlets for that room…
It’s less work for my humidifier in the small tent for now so they’re fine for the time being.

Happy Friday everyone! Anyone have anything fun planned for the weekend???

I run a 10’, 6 plug, pad to my tent.

Heavy cord I would assume and or hope :green_heart::sign_of_the_horns:t2:

Yeah he did say using extension cords is fine but since this room shares a wall with my utility room - I’m gonna have him add additional breakers/outlets solely for my grow equipment at some point.

For some reason this room can’t handle two tent systems, plus an air purifier, a DryDoc, and a dehumidifier.

Most low level grow equipment is minimal draw.

I was running 1000w, 5 fans. (Including ceiling) 2 humidifiers, 2 dehumidifiers, 2 aquarium pumps, a table lamp, AND a small window A/C.

All on 15A. Zero issues middle of summer.

Startup is where all the amperage is pulled. Runs at a lower level

Do tou have the option to forego the tent? Best decision I ever made. Humidity problems all but disappeared.

Then again, I do live in a desert :joy:

Case in point

Yessir. To a GFCI, breaker and fuse on the bar, then to a dedicated 20 amp in the panel.

@Oderus I’d get a little nervous without the tents… MN humidity outside this week is 30-50% humidity… we have an air exchanger hooked up to our HVAC to combat humidity inside the house.

Being in a room with carpet and all that I guess I also worried about running 70% humidity in there and it causing mold or damaging my walls… maybe I’m too paranoid but I’d really hate to cause major damage to my house.

Good to know about the startup tho… and thank you for all the info - maybe I’ll just have him test the power draw and see what (if anything) is really needed.

Because I didn’t test out if I could run it all, I just assumed it would be too much based on calculations.

I went through the exact same thing a couple months ago trying to troubleshoot a malfunctioning light.

My room may actually be a bit smaller than the one you use. Really helps with heat and humidity dispersion. All I did was add the amps listed on the appliances and all together added up to like 12 or 13. Im no electrician :joy:. 12x9 room. I did pare way back and once Im in full veg i bring RH back to 60% ish max. I decided VPD is nice but how much better is the growth vs risk of mold?

My last grow started getting pm early in veg running for vpd. Brought humidity down (as recommended by seller) and it disappeared. So apparently sometimes VPD may not work for more “sensitive” strains?

Ironic…I just had a guy do just that this week!

LOL…She just bought the tent.

LOL. So did I. 3 of them in the last year. Now 2 are drying tents. Lol. Such a hassle controlling heat/humidity in those things. Now I have an extra tent, humidifier, dehumidifier etc etc lol

Interesting to note that Minnesota is 18% rH

My tents are at 57.2% and 53.4%

I use VPD as my metric: the 3x3 veg tent is set at 1.0 and it is running 80.9F, 53.4% rH, and 1.37 KPa
the 2.5.x5 veg tent is set at 1.0 and it is running at 80.8F, 53.8% rH, and 1.35 KPa

I made a minor adjustment in sensitivity and both are adjusting. I use AC Infinity equipment, and the system works pretty well

Are you in a basement or something? There is now way i was keeping 2 tents in veg in that room @ 80°. Running 700 w and multiple accessories. The window unit didn’t even dent it. I had to open the window in dead winter and let 20° air in during lights on to stay below 80.

Luckily I live alone and can open the bedroom door during lights on. Keeps my humidity in that room around 40% and always below 80 if the door is open. Will still get to high 80’s door closed. Nighttime my VPD is perfect. Im not seeing any issues so i decided not to add the humidifier. Maybe I should install one on my HVAC unit :joy:

The plants look great !!! I went to Menards and got a half dozen of the shortest 3 prong cords, i think they are 8 or 10 feet, and then put the strip cord on top of the tent with the light driver. The cords on the fans and other things are too short to reach anywhere.
