Which light for a 120x120?

Thanks Storm! It is refreshing to find such an experienced and helpful community on the subject. dbrn32 already taught me more in a couple days than I learned myself in all my years! So I guess he earned the right to be grumpy with me when I am missing critical points :persevere:
For the record, I did not see any grumpiness lol only straight forward advice, critical thinking and relevant commentary.
I noticed that some people in the world prefer to retain knowledge and experience to gain power and status over others (I guess it is a capitalist mentality we are trained to adopt), whereas others share experience and knowledge in order to raise others up and let go of power/status. These are the real angels in the world, Hats off to you dbrn32 man!

I get you 100%. It doesn’t really make any difference to me what light you buy or how much you spend either. I just want to share with you things that some of us have picked up over the years.

Sometimes saving some money on a slightly lower performance light is easily justifiable. I would however probably wait and save up a little extra cash to get something more properly sized for the space if it was up to me. When you’re looking in 300 watt class of lights even the best available is going to be lacking some in a 4x4 tent. If you were to get to Something +/- 600 watts with decent performance specs would be more properly suited. The exception to this may be if you plan on building out a second tent later. You could scoop a 3x3 tent for the lights you’re currently looking to purchase and then upgrade the light in 4x4. If you don’t plan on adding a second space and upgrading light anyway you’ll have invested 3/4 of the cost into a light that will just be sitting there.

Me also. I love it.

I’m not a fan of SF lights personally but there is a well documented example of their capability that I followed along closely. I believe @TheAbu95 has in 27"x27" tent. Check it out when you have the time.

Seems logical. My purchase of the 4x4 was based solely on a discount coupon :frowning:

We live and learn I guess! Or at least we should try learning.

The setup cost/budget > 420 eur.

Vevor (kinda nice quality) 4x4 tent - 150 eur
Mars ts3000 (450watt) - 270 eur

For the understanding of the urgency, it was due to a recent local situation of synthetics hitting the market and no way to get the real deal after many months (

Nothing to regret about that. 4’ x 4’ is a very useful and popular size. Even if you decide to upsize later, you’re apt to find other uses for it.

Your choice of the TS3000 over the FC3000 EVO makes sense to me. BTW, the TS3000 PPFD maps you showed include this noteworthy sentence: “Tested in a 4’ x 4’ grow tent.” Rigorous 3rd-party testing might not replicate them exactly, but unless Mars Hydro is crooked, they should be a fair approximation of what you can expect in your 4 x 4.
