Thank you @SilvaBack203 I really appreciate the positive comments. Thank you for the support, getting close to chop time, some hairs are turning amber
U could always do a selective harvest. Harvest the colas that r ready and wait for the others get where you want it
None are ready yet, still much more white than amber, but they’ll get there soon Should only be a week or 2 left now I reckon. Thankfully those yellow balls I originally started the thread about didn’t continue developing into a problem.
Thank you again, I really appreciate everyone’s time.
Cannabis ruderalis can grow to 4 feet tall. If plants don’t get enough light they can stretch towards the light and end up taller than if they were kept outdoors in the sun or under bright light indoors.
Good light and lots of fertilizer, combined with a nice growing temperature and regular water will encourage plants to grow faster and bigger than plants kept under less ideal conditions.
The 80cm size recommended by the grower might be under average to low light conditions, and the plants are just getting bigger for you because of better growing conditions. It can also be genetic and those particular plants might be mixed with a sativa or indica and they are growing a bit taller due to that. But 3-4ft is normal size for ruderalis in the wild.
Hello @randylilgnome thank you for trying to tackle this.
I am definite that they are getting enough light. I take DLI readings twice a week and adjust accordingly to the DLI chart.
This could be it as I have quite a nice light for my space (Electric Sky ES300 V3), and I do feed abundantly multiple times a day since I am in coco. But this didn’t happen in my first 2 grows, and I’ve been using the same light and same nutes.
I usually grow 3 different strains at the same time (one that’s a heavy indica hybrid, one that’s more on the sativa side, and a 50/50 hybrid give or take), and still end up with this problem every time lately. I see other journals on growdiaries of the same strains I would have picked, and they’ll be shorter, stockier and more manageable. Just can’t help feel like something is off. I have a 7 ft tent and it’s like it’s not enough for the girls. I use a scrog net to try controlling height as much as I can also, and RQS LST clips which only delay it for 2 days and the branch is back up growing straight again.
Thank you for taking the time to listen to my ramblings.
How high is your light? What is your DLI? I run mine a little higher and mine stay fairly low.
Hello @SausageMahoney I start at 36 inches away from the plants, once I get the dimmer to 100% intensity I start lowering the light. I use these charts for DLI:
I could try running the DLI a few points higher as you stated.
Just giving an update on the grow and those yellow balls everyone. Seems like those yellow balls sorted themselves out now, everything is looking normal I think and plants are almost done.
This is the plant that had the issue:
The other plant:
Weird that the bud structure is so different and these are both the same strain. Checked the trichs with the scope today, no ambers yet, getting closer though
