Okay man, good luck! I’m sure when you wake up you’ll have all kinds of advice waiting.
Matt_auto i think i remember reading that you are from Austrailia? What other options for soil do you have? I read that miracle grow organic is a good alternative, it is way less hot than the original miracle grow.
before i came across this forum, i used MG w/ moisture control and planted my seeds in it… seemed to work well, the i transplnated them to FF Happy Frog
Front Page | Natures Care if you scroll all the way to the bottom, you will see that is is low in NPK 0.18%-N 0.10%-P 0.12%-K
@Matt_auto I had issues with standard soil so I switched to coco perlite mix 70/30, and my plants love it. Hard to overwaterand very easy on seedlings.
I’m a little bit further south then you and have problems getting good quality soil and nutrients here in my country.
Wish you the best mate. Keep an eye on the ph and check the run off. Also I don’t mist the leaves at all. I used a coke bottle cut off the top and put that on the plant pot. Spray the inside of the bottle and the seedlings should be ok. I also only used a shot glass of water every 2 days was good for my setup. I’m using a COB led 2 x 100w. Once they get a bit bigger I water till I get at least 20% run off and test the ph .
I have two ww autos and the one that started in soil is half the size of the other in coco.
They recover pretty well so don’t worry too much mate!
I’m a complete newbie but so far so good
All the best
If you recall I told you exactly what to do soil is 12-14-24 flush told you this a week ago you chose to take your chances with it
Though I didn’t insist because I thought maybe it would thin some of them out for you as some would survive the hot soil I can likely drag up my original post and your reply if you wish
This is absolutely correct don’t second guess yourself if you aren’t positive think of how many times you here the words hot soil quoted when sprouts are growing slow and or showing nutrient burn. It is the main reason the ticket asks soil type
and one of the most common problems for a new grower that or feeding too early.
symptoms are same as nute burn burnt upper and lower leafs tips curling slow growth.
Once I saw the NPK I was pretty positive that was the problem.
Stick to your guns and reinforce your answers with reference material when you can or aren’t in a rush There is far more info on this site than just a forum if we choose to utilize it
Good point, wise man. I will get that pebble one day!
Mostly I just want people to make their own choices. I’m just trying to leave a nugget of what I think. Gather info, make an informed choice.
bookmark this link I open it in new tab while diagnosing from tickets and go through checklist on likely candidates but if you notice many other links come up in side bar we can never stop learning so always wise to learn how to navigate whole site when you get the chance just for homework
likewise it just encourages them to study more if given references too and saves having to give long winded answers or solutions
When I am in a rush I simply say my suspect then post the link to it lmao
I had the same issue with a cheese plant … looked identical to that my issue disappeared after lowering my humidity and watering with cal- mag … I’m no professional at growing but that fixed my issue … but I’m just a newbie brother so get a second opinion maybe a third too … I’m sure you’ll figure it out
how old was your plant at the time? and what kinda soil were you using I only ask because these sprouts are about 3 weeks and have been showing issue ever since before transplant and Cal-mag takes weeks to show symptoms and in fresh soil very rare so long as ph is correct plants need to be big enough to use the minerals present before they start lacking any
Were new bought bags in stores hate the fact the dude said and i can still remember how he said : dooont worry my msn with this soil youre good for thr whole grow and even sels me starterkit for when my seedlings came thru… think imma rep all those plants out will be nothing anyways all that work and money to get lyed by in the face by some people who call them growshop…
That stinks man. You should be able to find some good soil at a local hardware store. Just nothing with time release fertilizer (like some of the Miracle Grow products). Roots Organics, Fox Farm, anything like that mixed with 25% perlite (plain perlite, not the stuff with fertilizer). You’ll be good.
I take it that means time to start over?
All he had to do was flush the soil until numbers checked out and then put a dome on them and they probably would have pulled through.
!@#$ all that love to hear everybody say do this do that like its soooo easy well it aint surtenly when you get lied in the face no more growroom no more plants im done!
