Definitely need storage solution… Directions say you could damage the probe with something other than the solution.
I think storing it in just regular water has been the issue. I did rinse it off every time I used nutrients, but just put fresh water back in the cap. Didnt know there was a specific solution for it, i don’t think I read anything in the manual about it either, kinda odd.
Odd thing about the solution… I keep my apera meters standing up on the cap… But the storage liquid either leaks upwards or evaporates a little as it will develop a crust.
But it doesn’t get inside… It builds up at the seam. Weird.
I even bought new gaskets from them.
I got a whole care kit on the way now, so hopefully I can get it all perfect and calibrated again.
I get the same crust.
I see you’re in plastic buckets. Could they possibly be overwatered? Just throwing it out there. May not be the issue at all. If they’re super heavy, could be though.
The lowest leaves don’t seem to be affected or I can’t see that they were from the pic. Its the mid layer fan leaves and some of the new upper growth. You certainly don’t want to drown them, but if that were the main problem you would have seen a period of sad n droopy before this burning.
If PH were too far off where the medium couldn’t buffer it the plant would lock out, and would take a few days before the leaves would show starvation which would be yellowing but not that browning.
Either they got nutrient burned, light burned, or both. Interested to see if anyone has had the same symptoms and what the solution was.
So right now I’ve started giving them each about a gallon of water every feeding and I do have runoff. Maybe about a half gallon l drained from both of them combined. Is that enough or should I water them more just for excess runoff during feedings? I only water every other day. On the days I don’t water I stick my finger in the medium up to my knuckle and make sure it still seems moist and cool, and lift them up to see how they feel.
But! I did just water them two days in a row though.
I noticed some spots and a couple leaves lookin pretty bad starting yesterday after I watered them with only water on monday. So I used some dolomite and watered with nutrients thinking it was some sort of deficiency yesterday. But it got worse today.
Here are a couple closer pictures of some lower level fan leaves. Look familiar to anyone?
Also, I think the light was a little closer than I was perceiving it. I dropped the plants off their little stands right into the floor and readjusted the light. It was pretty warm right at the canopy. The black thing dangling into the plant is a temp and humidity probe for the ac infinity fan. I had it kinda hanging right at 20-22”. But it was always reading like 70-75 degrees kinda hanging inside the plant. So I never really thought of how big of a difference it was actually making. Could have been 95+ where the actual top of the plant was.
I’m maybe leaning towards being burnt. Hopefully this will correct itself quickly haha.
Plastic pots don’t breathe, so it takes a while for them to dry out, especially indoors.mi would expect it to take several days between watering. I know even with fabric pots, my indoor plants are about every 4 or 5 days. Just saying something to consider.
So should I let them actually reaaaallly dry out before watering again? I would just hate to let them get too dry consistently. Or is that not really an issue? Should I let them dry out till they almost droop every time?
Cannabis benefits from a dry cycle, so I’d wait until it was pretty dry. Just kind of lift your pot when you know it’s wet, and also when it’s dry, then you’ll know when it’s time to water.
