I’m going to add it to my worm castings and volcanic ash plus a lil mighty plants bud charge dry amendments and soak it with compost tea

Just make sure it gets plenty of N or it will suck it up outta your soil. Better to charge it heavily than let your plants pay the bill.

Just looked up, budcharge 0-50-0 so that’s not gonna help. EWC and compost not high enough N.

My worm castings and compost tea both contain nitrogen plus I also have raw brand chelated N if I need to add it

I could always add like 1/8 teaspoon of nitrogen to my water when I water in the slurry or just add it to the mix when I wet it to innoculate it.

They do have it, but they’re not gonna have it in the concentration that you need for charging. That RAW N will be good.

No, you’re going to need a higher level of N to properly fill the exchange sites on the fresh char. If it doesn’t get enough during charging, it can pull available nutrients from the surrounding soil as it equilibrates.
It’s not really something you need to worry about “overcharging.” The char will hold nutrients and exchange them back into the soil as those nutrients are needed.
So adding a little extra N to every feed to compensate seems counterproductive to me. You’re basically allowing the fresh char to compete with the plants for N instead of loading the char first so it can actually function as part of the nutrient holding system. Why not fill it up first?
Edit: how much are we talking about charging up?

So I could just add blood and bone meal to the char mix to give it a blast of fresh nitrogen correct, would that be a better solution to my dilemma.

Blood me works you could also just stick with your chelated N. Just up that dose a good amount

The bonemeal doesn’t help. You need soluble sources that can fill the exchange sites. While bonemeal does provide some, and it is not soluble. Fish emulsion, blood meal, urine, all things that are helpful

I’ll probably stick to the raw N, I can adjust that by ppm so I can check to see how much I will need per cup of char that way I don’t create problems, thanks for the help @Budbrother

Flipped them with the 8th and 9th node showing, they would be much taller by now but I don’t let that happen. They should double to triple in length so I will be happy. I like short and manageable in my set up. Wish I could grow trees outdoors but for now it Shrubbery in the tent!!
