You have a lot of equipment for a 2x2 grow. I would see if you can tweak controller to get to canopy temps around 80f during lights on without the heater. And make sure your exhaust is set to run at minimum speed regardless of temp while lights are on. This should put you around ideal leaf surface temp and constantly replenishing co2 while lights are driving plants. It’s okay to have a little temp drop during lights out. Heaters are expensive to run, so good to have but worth trying to run without if you can. The heater probably draws 3x your lights and fans combined. Based on size of your grow it would have a major impact on grams/operating cost.
Ph of 6 may be a little low, depends on how much lime is in your bags. FF is notoriously inconsistent with this so just keep an eye out and raise it a little or top dress with a couple tablespoons of lime if need be. I wouldn’t be surprised if you can go a little longer than 20 days without feeding too. If your plants are doing well at this point maybe water to a little runoff and chech ph and ppm of the runoff before blasting away with nutrient solution. Also keep in mind that half your bottles aren’t usually necessary to get green plants to harvest. They may help if applied correctly, but your base nutrients are going to do most of the work, so don’t get overly cute with the additives. Most soils have as much or more silica than plants will pull, and you’re able to tweak final npk ratio by adjusting amounts of the 3 base bottles.
I am a first time grower. I have three buckets and two out of the three are hanging on. One is probably too far gone. I’m worried my plants are stuck between the seedling and vegetative stage. Please help with being able to save what I do have.
I feel like it’s a combination of things that’s the issue. I already realized I was overwatering and stopped doing that.
There are holes in the buckets and no they didn’t specify. All it said was all in one nutrient packed soil made for auto seeds. Is it too late or can they be saved???
That light is not going to be strong enough in flower. You’re fine right now but you’re gonna need a better light. The light you use is one of the most if not the most important thing. You’re gonna probably spend 2 or 3 hundred bucks on a good light. Hlg makes very good lights they aren’t the cheapest but they have excellent customer service.
Hey @Janae402 welcome to the forum. Reed Dman and dand got you squared away. Follow their advice. It can be overwhelming at first but this forum is structured to help the new grower and in a kind and effective way. Your plants look good so far. Start thinking about a new light. Theres deals to be found but it takes a little understand so you dont get a bad deal. When you find some lights you might like come back and ask around. You can tag any of us by @username and the username will pop up. Get some soil around about 1" down from the first leaves, find you some lights. I’ve actually got some laying around. We can address that later. Good luck and welcome!
Thank you so much. I see grow lights can get pretty expensive. I don’t think I could afford a couple hundred bucks right away. Any suggestions on an affordable light?
