I get my plantā€™s a good root system in gallon pots, Dig a hole size of a 5 gallon pot or bigger, sprinkle some grandular insecticide into the hole for underground pests, like the evil cutworms, High Gade of Potting Soil i use Blackgold with wormcastings , put the plant in and water, Fertilizer i use a mix of organic with some nitrogen Fish Emulsion , Liquid Worm Castings, Fox Farms Grow Big , i use Captain Jackā€™s for pests ,Agrowlyte for mold, i cut the suckerā€™s off the bottom, and thin out a few fan leaves in the center , Thatā€™s it ,look at this Big BB itā€™s taller than my 16 ft stepladder i had to use it to spray for bugs :rofl:

sounds like a good mix. my enemies this year have been slugs and some hoofed animal knocking a pot over. does grandular insecticide deter slugs? if so itā€™s ok for living soil, trying to stay natural?
whats your guess, whenā€™s harvest that giant?

I use Sevin granulated insecticide, Iā€™m not sure if slugs are on the list, i donā€™t really mix it into the potting soil, just sprinkle into the bottom of the hole i dug, I never had it harm a plant, I started useing it after cutworms killed my plantā€™s , Iā€™m going to have to harvest Tomorrow, Iā€™m finding too much Bud Rot itā€™s been tough growing because of all the rain and humidity, GSC will be the last plant, sheā€™s loaded without any Rot

Were loaded with whitetail deer but I never had them eat any of my plantā€™s, I have had rabbits eat on them before, red pepper sprinkled around plantā€™s help keep some pests away, i used it for field mice digging up my plantā€™s

I see you use captain jacks for pests too. Iā€™ll find some gardening hacks for slugs maybe or avoid that area again.
The deer dont even eat them, they just knock the container over and mangle it. Interested in the molasses smell haha so out of four locations in the woods, two maybe just unusable.
