Meanwell hlg-150 is available in cv/cc like this. Would you like one with onboard dimming pot or with dimming leads that you can connect a dimmer of your choice?

Its a meanwell driver, hlg series. Onboard dimmer will dim from 50% to 100%

you could give me some advice re soil I’ve got no idea what % of coco coire to add to the soil I’ve used last few years ,had been using peat fibre but can’t get it anywhere over here now, so after reading some journals on this website I have bought some coco coire, I’ve done the whole rinse out twice thing and then pre changed twice with calmag as well (tap water is very soft,less than 40ppm at highest, ph is pretty steady at 6.2) I usually only feed plants when in flower and then only about 20% of recommended strength my soil has been cooking for about 5-6 weeks now, but I haven’t added coco to it yet ,do you guys add coco into soil prior to cooking or after and what %of coco do you add also does the calmag have an effect on microbial action during cooking or when added afterwards, my soil has always been pretty good previously with peat fibre added prior to cooking but I never used calmag at this time, only to water when plants growing and even then only 10 to 20% strength every watering depending on how plants look.
My soil looks feels and smells smashing at the moment, but it’s a little heavy, with out peat fibre/coco coire in it, love that slightly foresty/mushroomy aroma it gets at this point, it’s ready to go but how will the calmag charged coco effect it will I have to leave it to cook for longer if I add it just now or should I hold off until I’m ready to pot up
Also when I rinsed and pre charged the coco it separated into two distinct grades of coco the stuff floating on top of the water was coarse and light,the stuff that sank to the bottom was finer and more dense and softer texture do you guys keep them separate or mix them together, just asking because seems to me they would suit different stages of plant growth, maybe finer, softer one for seedlings and coarser for later/older plants,is this normal for Coco coire?

No worries but usually you dont want to mix coco and soil they have two different needs as far as ph and nutes go most just use one or the other straight coco will need to be feed from the start cause theres no nutes in it now if tou just want to liten up your soil i use perlite to help with drainage and it retains some moisture
But if tou do mix i would use very little coco maybe 80/20 soil to coco

@thisis40 how you doing today ma man hope you and yours doing well.
If you’re using solid plastic ducting try and get yourself some silicone tape then all you need to do is wrap it round the male part,joining pipe together, it forms a perfect seal stops any rattling noises when pump is pulling air through pipes and your able to take it off and on as many times as you want without it degrading seal strength it’s only £5-10 a roll and is more airtight and looks way better/tidier than duct tape also a roll or two will last for years as you can stretch it between 2-4times the length it comes off the roll you can get it on line easy or even from the big DIY stores you usually get it in the electrical department sparkies use it to seal out door connections as it doesn’t degrade with weather/time also handy to keep in car for coolant pipe leaks.
You will find that after using solid ducting, you won’t ever want to use the collapsible stuff ever again, if you go to Victoria plumbing it’s only about £7 a metre length or £18 for 3metre length you might need connector’s but they’re only a couple of quid at most it’s a bit more expensive but it’s going to last as long as you or I will so in the long term it’s actually cheaper, you can always count on a jock to look after the pennies

@thisis40 I’ll change my pricing then I reckon it will be a bit more expensive for ten inch piping if you know anyone who has a trade card you should ask them to get it from a wholesaler, prices I had were for 4" pipe. for the size I have the price difference wasn’t worth me going to Edinburgh/Glasgow wholesalers but definitely think you would save enough for it to be worthwhile and you can get bigger selection of lengths, I’ve still got trade card/Vat number if you have difficulty I can then order over phone and you can pick up and pay then I think?

@thisis40 got Screwfix and I imagine that Edinburgh or Glasgow would have plumbsave.
My vat no still in date if your rellies can get discount in Screwfix ask them if staff discount can be applied with it, that would be even better saving than with trade card.My trade cards are now out of date but Vat still good

@Crazy81 @Retiredoldguy sorry gents I thought I would move over here instead of taking over @thisis40 journal.
If I use it this way will I still be able to get the read out from the probes data ie temp and humidity without it switching inline pump up/down and if so should I? or is it better to allow the controller to adjust the inline pump baring in mind the high humidity in Scotland during autumn/winter or is it easier to start simpler and then add this capability later as I become more used to it.

I just scroll thru the menu and set my fan speed then parameters for high temp and high humidity you can set a buffer to keep the fan from turning on and off to much and yes probes will display what room is at @Auldishgit
