Well I guess 24 out of 25 ain’t bad germ rates. I decapitated one yesterday after I got impatient trying to pull off its helmet. ![]()
![]()
. I also just realized I dont have 24 more pots to put these in. ![]()
![]()
I guess I will keep the best 6 or 8 and take the rest to the woods, to sow a little joy into the World. ![]()

![]()
But really thank you I can’t take any credit all I done was let him do his thing and pollinated what he could and I collected some to use for later. These were the results of that continued pollination. ![]()

I forgot to mention that the plant in the back left next to the gnome is a monster cropped revegged clone from your Blackberry Pancakes. Very Hard plant to clone while in flower btw. I think out of about 20 attempts only 6 rooted. ![]()

Beds are greening on up with clover and we got greenbeans and peas popped up after this last good rain.
some of these beans are from last years harvest. I planted those peas around late March,?? I think it was right after I worked in the husks, rice hulls, Gypsum and Magnesium. Finally got the 100 lbs of diastatic ground malted barley in and the 50 lbs of bat guano, I hit each bed with two cups apiece of the malted barley. Lets see how they do. ![]()
![]()
Im gonna hold off on the bat guano until we see how the beds grow, bat guano can be really hot if used too heavily. ![]()

I feel you on that, this could be our last cold snap over on this side, dogwoods bloomed a couple weeks ago then that last frost weve had hit, now our blackberries have started to bloom so Im hoping this is the last cold snap ![]()
![]()
![]()
Papaw always called it dogwood and blackberry winter. After you seen blackberry briars flowering out you were usually safe to drop you beans, corn, squash, tomatoes and such. Keep em growing Reed I cant wait to see how yours produce this year. ![]()

Our biology is still very young in the beds that were reworked this year. Hoping this might help green our clover on up.
Update on our germination test plants and our Blackberry Beauty Queens. Cant remember what week there in maybe 6,7 they look around that anyways and the seedling are at 2 weeks maybe 3. I could hardly believe my eyes the day after adding malted barley to these seedlings they jumped a inch or more overnight. I definitely recommend it to anyone growing organic it woke my soil up alot, I can tell we are having better nutrient cycling in our big veggie beds now as well. Thanks for the tip @Budbrother ![]()

Adding oatmeal ground with that will fire the mycos. MB is an awesome enzyme. Making SST with seeds is cheaper dosing on a biweekly basis.
I’d say it is, I snagged 4- 25 lb. bags for about $25 a bag. Dont know if it was a good deal or not but I can tell you that the cheapest I could find bulk rice hulls was build- a
-soil and the freight to get it to me cost more than the pallet of hulls did. This stuff gets expensive so I appreciate the tips bud. ![]()
