Vahillbilly’s Grow Journal

Well yall I took all the undergrowth and larfy looking stuff off I could and tried to open up some good air channels to allow some horizontal airflow into that thick canopy. I would never be able to get away with this in the summer but my dehumidifer can keep up with her this time of year. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:. I’m still worried she maybe too dense. :face_with_spiral_eyes::face_with_spiral_eyes::face_with_spiral_eyes: may have to drop a little fan underneath if she bushes out too much more. What do yall think. Im running an 8" intake down low and an 8" exhaust up top, with 2- 8" circulating fans blowing down on top of my lights 1 on each end that blows thru and into the canopy,. It keeps everything swaying a little. :+1::folded_hands:

Done all the clean up we could and were just gonna have to roll with what was left. We are finishing up week 3 and hopefully finishing up with the stretch. Gave them a watering with a little epsom salt, they will need the magnesium & Sulphur to start priming those budsites for some oil and terpene production over the next several weeks. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::folded_hands::victory_hand:

Also @kw_Bat I just got done weighing in both of those last plants, I like to slow dry mine, hang till my fans are all crispy usually about 10 to 14 days then knock off fans and put whole buds with sugar leaves still on into a paper bag for another week or so to equalize the moisture deep inside the buds and pull it out slowly to the outside. After another 7 to 10 days the sugar leaves should be dry and no longer pliable but snap easily. This is when I trim and buck each nug off the stem and throw it into a groove bag to start a 30 to 60 day cure. These two Blackberry Pancakes ended being around 14.2 ounces plus Ive smoked a good 2 zips myself so far at least maybe 3. Lol. So we ended up with about what I guessed Batman, cant wait for this to cure and see how she does. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::folded_hands::victory_hand:

Goodmorning grow friend. Readin over your drying process. Yeah, i am sure your weed is top notch and taste wonderful. Excellent way to cure a harvest.

About the cotton seed oil. My grandparents worked on cotton farms in the delta in Arkansas.

One day I was working on a huge patch of turnip greens. Purple top turnips they were. My grandma who was 90 was trying to give me tips on growing turnips. Of course all she has was some experience to tell me..

She goes on to say. They were poor not much food to eat. So she planted turnips at the end of the cotton gen where it spit the hulls out on the ground. She was telling me how fast they grew. She was able to eat when they didn’t have any food because they grew fast.

She said it was a huge pile of hulls at the end of the cottongen is where she planted rulight in the middle of them cooton seed shells. She swore to me that she was eating turnips in 14 days. They are a 30 day plant.

All contributed to those cotton seed.

True story.

Lets hope the power holds out. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers: as frosty as these other Blackberries have been I thought it only right to let em come into the world when it was Frosty. :joy::joy::folded_hands::folded_hands::victory_hand:

I wanted to show you what I like to keep growing off to the sides of my lights. These are golden potatoes, but I also got sweet potatoes growing in another pot. :+1:

Everone is good here. Thankyou for asking. @VaHillbilly

Well, cabin fever is real here.

Those potatoes are pretty. I love to grow potatoes. Year before last I grew one roll of potatoes 200 ft long. They made big time. But crazy thing is, I left them in the ground all year. They eventually died and dissappeared. Then grass grew over top them 3 ft tall. Huge root base were on the grass. They stayed like this all year till next grow season.

The deal is, they stay preserved under the ground under that grass. Like a root cellar. When I got ready to cook. I just go dig them up. I had a video somewhere, wished I could show you.

A poor man’s root cellar.

Enjoy your day friend.

I have a few mounds of taters still in the ground as we speak my friend along with a row of carrots I forgot about.:rofl: :+1:. I also like to do a “tater tower” with a couple big old laundry baskets, some soil and alot of straw. I may do one this spring when I start the outdoor beds, if so I will post some pics. It is a very efficient way to grow them.

Figured I’d do another update yall since tomorrows the end of week 4 and all, the next couple weeks are the make it or break it point for me most of the time. Lets hope these gals start stacking some calyxes soon :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::folded_hands::folded_hands: its shaping up to be a nice haul. Buds starting to fill in, these blackberries,I have noticed, are slow to build but have beautiful structure once the do get to swelling. Also the cold nighttime temps have allowed me to get these gals down to 60/55°F and made some purple come on out. But may also slow my growth down a touch as it takes longer for the room to warm back up into the 70s. After nights that cold.:+1::victory_hand:

Thank you very much Batman :folded_hands: I am humbled by your kind words. I try to grow the best I can with what I got my friend. Never been fortunate enough to just go buy whatever I’ve needed so for the majority of my life I’ve had to just build it or make something as close as I could to it to get by. :folded_hands:
