Twelve1’s Journal: Autoflowers in Soil with Grow Dots

Well, it’s like this - since he was just in the hospital for 2 days, they bumped him to Friday. And as it turned out, I was sick today (stomach bug) so I couldn’t get him today anyway.

Once I started feeling more human, I assembled his walker and put the cover back on his lift chair, etc etc etc.

Now I’m just chilling and will go to bed very early tonight, I was up most of last night - yukko!

Sorry about all of that! I hope that you feel much better and fully human tomorrow!

The Epsilon came up today, with her shell very much stuck.
I managed to successfully get it off, phew.

So, the Epsilon is leading the pack, coming up yesterday and looking well.

The Purple Kush came up today.
Her membrane was stuck, an easier operation than with the Epsilon.

Also experiencing some degree of birth trauma is the Black Domina, though I’m less optimistic about her.
Her root grew sideways/upside down.

I up-righted her a few minutes ago, so I’ll see if she wants to live enough to root in the correction direction and come out of her seed shell.

I have two more of those seeds if this one fails.

The Black Domina tiny seedling gave it a go yesterday, but ultimately failed. :skull: :headstone:

I started soaking a new Black Domina seed today.

The smaller (and only a day younger) Purple Kush is on the left, and the Epsilon is on the right:

The cups are 36oz and are their permanent homes.
I mixed a medium rate of Grow Dots into their soil.

These cups are an experiment, in part to see how I like the size.

Maybe someday I’ll play with a standard solo cup size. :grimacing:

The second black domina seedling, which was to replace the first failed black domina seedling, also failed the same way as the first one.

The second seedling did grow upright, unlike the first one, but she failed nevertheless.

She needed her seed membrane removed, which I did just fine, but she never opened her coty leaves.

I have one more black domina seed, but I’m moving on from that for now.

So, today I soaked a northern lights auto seed.

Here are the purple kush and epsilon this afternoon:

Gotta watch out for repeat customers playing tricks!

Less than a day later (today), it had nearly a quarter-inch tail, nice!

I planted the seed today. :seedling:

It’s certainly much more eager than the two black domina seeds that took two days to even crack.

The epsilon is growing quickly. :slightly_smiling_face:

Have a beary good rest of the weekend!

The northern lights came up last evening, soooo cute, and healthy.

Also a plus that she didn’t have any shell or membrane stuck to her - no surgeries needed, phew.

Below, the gang this morning.
The purple kush is 13 days old, and the epsilon is 14 days.
The baby northern lights in the “giant” 1-gallon pot is barely visible. :face_with_monocle:

The epsilon (the red cup on the right) is growing fast.
She will be ready to top within the next couple+ days.

Congrats on the new baby seedling and the big girls are looking nice too!

The epsilon was ready for her topping today. :slightly_smiling_face:
Before:

After I top, my plants have eight branches, but this Epsilon has an oddity in that one of her “sets” of branches only has one branch.

So, she’ll only have seven branches.
Math! (8-1=7)
:smirk:  :abacus:

Behold the missing branch: :hushed:

Below, the purple kush, taking her time.
She’s only one day younger than the epsilon.

The three-day old northern lights is doing well.
:baby: :seedling:

The plants earlier this morning:

Later, I hung another light, so they have more room now.

It’s Halloween Eve  and here’s Epsilon’s first lights-out pic. :bat:
I’m very happy with her growth speed and structure.

Below, the purple kush is in the back right and isn’t as exciting at the moment, lol, but is doing fine.
She was topped this morning.
She’ll get some lights-out pics soon.

The kiddos this morning -

The northern lights is gaining steam:

Below, the purple kush is in late pre-flower, and apparently she isn’t a fan of long branches, lol:

The purple kush alongside the epsilon that IS a fan (me, too!) of long, easily-trainable, sunbathing branches:

Another update so soon, cuz lil’ purple kush is unhappy.
She’s been in a perma-droop for over 36 hours.

My best opinion at the moment is that I haven’t adjusted my watering practices to her liking.

The 36oz cups are totally new to me, and I’ve been fairly good about not watering these too much/too often, though it seems that the purple kush disagrees.

Both cups have holes, though I think that I’ll very gently widen some on the kush’s cup.

Along with erring towards less water for her.

Her little buds are still growing (hard to see, lol), though, so she ain’t dead yet. :slightly_smiling_face:

Of course, the whiny kush (new strain, ha) is on the right side:

Get well soon little Purple kush

And get better, she has!

I gave her some water yesterday, as her cup was dry by then.
Also, I cut off the lowest set of leaves that were damaged.

Going forward, I’ll be giving her less water, lol.

She began perking up last night before lights-on.

This morning:

She’s already into flower and stiffening, so she won’t be growing her branches, except for some flower stretch.
Not much training I can do with this: :joy:
