Tried a grow with Earth Boxes and failed

I started a grow in Earth Boxes as soon as they out grew the solo cups and had good root build. I just couldn’t grasp the moisture issue. Seemed to always have water in bottom and I couldn’t get them dry.
I swapped them back into 5 gallon fabrics and they are happy. A little behind but hopefully I can get them going in right direction. Had some guidance that didn’t work out so it’s been a big learning curve. I come here often and read as much as possible. Very grateful for the knowledge I pick up here. Thank you

That sucks the Earth boxes didn’t work out for you but I’m glad you got your planties figured out so they’re healthy and happy again!!

Definitely a financial hit. But does have me frustrated enough to learn how to grow in them later. Many growers praise them. All I did was swear at the dang things.

Check out build a soil on YouTube Jeremy uses them with pretty good success.

I did watch his videos and was all over the Earth Box forum. I know what my issues were now. I had made soil good for growing in cloth pots. I needed more ability to drain and not so much water retention. So I think I could try again another time

Thanks  thats kind of you. They are the way to go for me.

I use living soil in my boxes and living soil needs to be kept moist, not soggy, just moist. Miy Earthbox’s are hooked up to an autowater system as soon as the ladies are big enough, usually about 2 weeks after transplant.
I’m pretty bad about updating my thread but I have one. It was trial and error at first. After about 3 years of growing in them, I’ve learned. :v::green_heart:
