Down side to untopped is big fat buds. I know it doesnt sound bad but if you have any humidity late in flower your more subseptable to bud rot.

Guess thats more of an outdoor problem .though.
Next time you top, try and leave a little nub at the topping point. It will help prevent splitting the stalk when training.

I’m with ya on the smaller buds being better. Imo the smaller buds seem to pack more flavor smell and high all together where as the bigger buds taste nice but not as tasty. I grew out some elev8 runtz the mama plant beside taking clones and defols and a lollipop on her she was left to go normal. I took the clones x7 and put them in 1 gallon containers in a 2x4 tent small buds came from the plants but they were way more potent in all aspects than the mother was for sure. If u have good growing conditions good lights and good watering practices u will be set. Autos can be fimmed topped defiled and all without much harm u just have to hit them at the right time. Grow one out and really watch it grow and u will see what I mean. They grow and stall and grow and stall. When u seem to notice that stall moment is when u wanna do defols tops forms ect. That’s when the plant is working on the root zone so u won’t harm any work going on uptop if it is working on root work. This is just what I’ve noticed growing autos and not being scared to do stuff to them. @Nicky @Not2SureYet @Dr.ofSmokology all do autos and are super with them. Maybe give their threads a skim thru and see what u can pick up there. Welcome and happy growing

@Lynyrdsky in post 15 shows what I want to see before I think about topping if it is earlier than 3 weeks. I prefer to wait till 4 weeks. But my scrogs often force me to top earlier. But as long as I see the bright green there showing she is growing good like his there. I can top at that point if I need.
