So, I think I’m going to harvest in the next 2 weeks. Do I cut the branches off and hang it to dry, or should I leave the plant in the soil till it dies and dries out.?
Depends…
Some cut the main stem and hang the whole plant upside down.
Some cut the branches off the main stem, while others take it down to the buds.
Then… Some people… Myself included… Wet trim the buds.
While others don’t trim until it’s “dry”.
Dry being 58-62% rh in a bag… Or 10-12% moisture with a wood or hay moisture meter.
Dry as long as possible… 7-14 days.
It will smell like grass… Or plant like… For a bit.
Dry @ about 60F and 60rh.
I cut the branches off the main trunk and wet trim (remove((trim)) all the leaves) … Then hang upside in the above… In the dark.
I find dry trim to be messier and I loose more tricomes…not really loose… It all gets collected.
Fan on low on the bottom not pointing at the buds.
When at the proper moisture level… I prefer 61-63% rh (measured with a hygrometer) I brown bag them over night to stabilize the moisture… Then Bagged in grove bags… For at least a month…
Then enjoy.
Very cool. Thank you…
All you said is correct.
Wet trim in humid environment. for sure.
Jars or bags ?
4-8 months storage during the “cure”
I early
cut some buds to test.
Fans trimmed off
I use a bowl trimmer, and trim the buds when wet, then place in a drying rack.
