I grow organic and strive for a living soil rizosphere, and thankfully have never had to flush, except I do stop feeding any extra goodnesses towards the end of the road pre-harvest and just use plain water…
This was from my first indoor grow other than starting plants for outside. The plant recovered nicely. It turned out to be a pretty nice plant. Your plants look healthy but they’re gonna be hungry and theyre gonna need something to replace the microbes that got flushed out
@plumbdand looking at what @Growdoc said to let her dry back and check next feeding. You think she needs something sooner? Not sure how long it will take her to dry back. Maybe a week? That will put her in week 7 of flower.
The other gal I didn’t flush and thinking of getting florakleen per @Big123 and see if that helps breakdown her salts…and get her pH up.
Yes I use yucca wet my entire grow. But only used the florakleen once. It did the trick. But yucca is good for several things besides just flushing. It actually makes water wetter. Not kidding. I use 5 ml per gallon with my nutes. If I wanted to flush I would use 15 to 20 ml per gallon. Yucca softens the waxy layer on the leaves and makes water or nutrients soak right in. Instead of beading up and running off the leaves. It also stops your soil from being hydrophobic. When it’s hydrophobic water beads up and runs off the top and down the sides before it can soak in. Yucca would be an awesome addition to your nutrient line. @Budbrother turned me on to it!
I had a similar horrible flushing experience my last soil grow in 10 gal bags also with FFOF. between the nightmare of 2 flushes in a month and tracking dirt all over my grow room I made the switch.
Hydro is pretty brainless if you keep correct PH it seems.
I wont be using soil till next years outdoor but I will probably ask here what the best promix is for outdoor.’
I rode out the last month with no nutes, just ph’d water to use up all the salts left
@oderus, thank you for the input and appreciate you!
My 3 options for my next grow will be either promix with AN; Organic or Hydroponics… I will be growing on 1 plant at a time the the money needed for any of this “I think” will be doable. I’ve read tons on this forum about FFOF, however, it was after they were already in like flower. So yes, I only have 4 weeks left to get me to 10 weeks of flower and most likely will “ride it out”. But will start my plan for my Winter grow soon. I honestly will most likely try all three at some point and then decide which one I like best.
So here’s a question for you all. When you flush a plant like I just did and many of you have done in the past. How is this not considered over watering??? Is it because I was just letting it run out the bottom??
Basically, yes!
The plant will only use the water that’s in the soil/medium. If the water is just passing through, the plant will only drink whatever’s left behind.
