One is without my other light and one is with and yeah I had recently watered them but those are some of my lights
I share your experience.
1980 lights, 1983 GOOD LIGHT, 2014 your lights, 2015-22 China Cheapies.
2022-23 HLG/AC-Infinity Controllers.
1983 HPS light grew awesome, until the two fires killed them.
2022 my best harvest
HLGs @ 600 watts grow good flowers.
My China cheapies were well advertised as âgreat LED GROW lights, full spectrumâ. They measure half the HLGs or measure the same with double the electrical WATTS required for the output. They will provide the heat for my indoor winter grow.
40WATTS/ square ft for good plant growth, maybe ( More for Moon shot or Mars landings).
IR-gun, UT383-BT, Kil-a-Watt, and temperature gage used to verify numbers.
HLGâs measure as advertised. 330,260,30 measure 325, 260, and 30Watts.
Vipar Spectras (300,600,900. and 1200) all measure half the wattage (150/300,450,and 550, respectively).
Your lights (pictured directly above) are good for seedlings, clones and re-veging. As close as you want, if no âhand heatâ can be felt.
IR-gun can measure leaf temps as long as leaf is not raised by light more than ambient (no stress).
One of my forum threads has 2 years grow information.
Good growing to you.
Thank you for the advice and same to you Iâll have to look into somethings you know how funds can be haha
You have no idea.
My grow budget matches college tuition (it aint cheap, either).
Waited 40 year to return to growing, at what a cost.
Legal is my best advice.
too big for desk paper weight.
Space Junk?
@Mookie28 , I am not trying to pick on you.
Any light will grow something.
The issue is desired characteristics and real results.
The UT383-BT measured outdoors Summer, 5pm Sunshine, PNW-Island temp 75F Lux measured 150Klux. the meter maxed out at 2000LUX (design).
HLGâs lights at five inches âOLâ the meter (maxed-out)
5 inches is too close and hot.
HLG 350R @50% outputs (200 watts) the same as the Vipar Spectra V1200 (535Watts) 55KLUX at 25 inches. The significant difference is TEMPERATURE.
I donât know about spectrum differences (beyond advertised).
Real growth ?
As the grower, you must utilize available resources.
$ wonât fix every issue.
My grow restrictions are temp or circuit loading. I must choose lights or Air conditioning, not both, at the same time. Having a grow in process benefits with any lighting improvement.
Canât seem to stay home for a solid grow, is another problem I suffer from.
Big buds like big lights.
Are you legal? then spend well, as an investment in your future.
Best wishes
This one would be better. I think itâs on sale for $189 on the SF website. It would do well. I think that is about the cheapest light I would put in a 2x2 and be happy with. You could spend a few bucks more, but this one would be a solid start.
You might get away with a 100w but you wonât be maximizing your space and you may have low density.
