Sorry I understand lol just need to smile sometimes bless you and everyone that has been welcoming to me on my first try
Not impressive but thoughts so far?sorry for reply but I’m still not good with this lol I want to put it in something larger but I’m afraid to ruin any progress
It’s all good. That’s what forums for. Ask all the questions you like. A lot of people would advise you not to transplant in flower. I am very pro transplant though and she looks way too big for that pot. If you are careful it won’t hurt anything at all. There are a few things you can do to make it easier on yourself. Get everything together in one place before hand to Minimize the amount of time roots are exposed. Wait until the soil is dry to transplant. Put enough soil in the new pot that the the top of the soil will be roughly an inch below the rim of the pot. You can just set the plant and pot inside the new to check were the soil line will end up. Water the soil you are transplanting into before transplant. Place your hand on top of the soil with the base of the plant between your thumb and index finger. With your other hand on the bottom of the pot flip the whole thing upside down. As long as you let the soil dry it should all come out in a ball pretty easily. At most you a few gentle taps on the bottom of the pot should release it into your hand. With both hands turn it right side up into your new pot. If your feeling froggy you can gently loosen the fibrous roots around the outside of the ball, but if you do be very careful. It’s easy to go too hard and break off a piece of the root ball. That is where transplant stress can become a problem. Finally sprinkle new soil around the root ball and compact it in just a little to eliminate any air pockets. just enough that the soil feels firm. All that’s left is to slowly water until you get a little runoff. She may wilt just a little from the heavy watering but should stand back up within a day. If she doesn’t then you probably broke a main.
@Gl1tch has you covered…
Welcome to the forum and to the family of growers.
Thank you is there a good time because she’s bathing in sunlight at the moment haha
oops, meant to mention. In the evening just after it starts to cool down is ideal.
That was one of my main things she’s my first success and don’t want to harm her. Well I’ve had a few but messed up.
Agree totally. thanks for typing the reply, for us.
Transplanting.
SIze ne hole at twice the planter leaving size.
Fill with desired new soil (same as current lant in flower).
Pre-size receiving hole for flowering plant container root-ball.
Soak flowering plant root ball.
Hold flowering plant upside down and remove container.
Aim for pre-sized ground hole (if in soil) or into larger grow bag.
Execute flip and find receiving hole.
Pat down soil and speak kind words.
I do.
Slightly different, but similar to @Gl1tch, just different.
My bad I deleted my post didn’t think I would hear from anyone haven’t tried yet still sketched I don’t want to lose her and have never tried
And I’m afraid to dig down enough to mess up the roots I should have a lot earlier I’m guessing but she’s got new colas growing atm also…
Thats right bury the pot so you have the perfect size hole.
On large transplants I’ve used a piece of cardboard covers the top and a slice cut out for the plant and turn it upside down without losing dirt.
What kind of container is it in?
Plastic, not good.
Grow bag good.
Testing soil cooling soil for plastic container.
Grow bags preferred.
I have not thought of that thank you lol
If plastic container, Drill or cut holes so roots can escape easily.
This ha. Would you say it’s a necessity to or I mean this is just for me this would be devastating to lose
But the cardboard thing sounds pretty solid just wondering if it’s a necessity or could I leave it alone I know my yeild won’t be as good if I don’t …
I’m learning a lot though thank you guys btw
