The seeds, fresh from their soak. Fresh filtered water every 12 hours until most had a tail. Covered with an inch or so of water and plastic wrap up on the top of the fridge!
Lined the tray with paper towels to make cleanup easier and to keep the soil from getting out of the holes in the tray.
Wheatgrass seeds layered out onto the soil. The directions said not to overlap the seeds or let them touch. (ok scratch that part of directions. I don’t want to spend an hour putting the seeds on the soil…wtf
And here we are, everyone nestled into the dome! Gave the wheatgrass and the three girls a good misting. I will hit them again later before I hit the hay!
I have a 2 ft 4 bulb T5 that I will use. It is not extremely durable but will hold up under normal conditions. For the price I paid it will pay for itself in no time. Heck it is better then ziplock bags and wire I used for my first. This will make things so much better.
Woohoo @bob31 welcome to the world little Goldie
And bob since your retired I am upset you didn’t follow the wheat grass direction to the tee and make sure they don’t touch hahahahahaha Who’s the slacker now buddy
Great score @Smokin_ernie
I paid a few more $. For mine but got a heat mat as well 7 inch dome
They work great and help so much in the beginning with humidity
You may want to get a heat mat down the road just a thought no need this time of year tho
lol. I thought you missed the slacker comment! @Countryboyjvd1971 yeah I was reading that and I called my wife and read her the directions and told her that was her contribution and she laughed and walked away. I said thats good enough for me. It was either that or time and a half! lol
@Smokin_ernie what I do is leave an air gap between the prop mat (heating pad…) and the bottoms of the pots. I should have mine today or tomorrow so I will take some pics on how I set it up. Funny thing though, you wouldn’t think you’d need it but my tent is running about 73 degrees inside the dome. Ideally want it 8-10 degrees warmer while they are sprouting…
Hahahha yeah time and a half is better lol
And no I saw it laughed at it as well bob
And yes they can’t burn them as much as dry them out too much
They do sell thermostats for them as well ive seen them for about 20 you plug mat into that and all good
I keep a little bit of water in bottom of tray always that keeps temps down and humidity up when I use mine @Smokin_ernie
And keep my solo cups on little styrofoam pieces so they don’t sit in water that seems to keep thing nice for me
@Countryboyjvd1971 i do the same with the water in the bottom of the pan. I just lift the corner of the pan so the water stays in the other corner of the pan, but I have a full house right now so I think I may need to rethink that!
Hahahha exactly bob
1/2 inch it was supposed to say up above bro and I have the ridges as well but I didn’t want any chance of water wicking to happen ? @bob31
I sometimes over think things lol
