Tent vents & keeping dark inside

How are y’all keeping your tents dark during daylight hours when flowering? If you need to keep the tent dark for 12 hours but you need to close the vents to achieve this, how are you venting the tent to let enough fresh air in?

Last night I closed the vents and added a 6” hose and another blower which was forcing air in. I couldn’t get it to sync right. Either too much pressure (blowing up the tent like a balloon no matter of the settings) or negative pressure.

So I removed the new additional blower that was blowing in and just used a black 6” dryer hose through the tent to allow the system to suck air in but it still seems like the tent has negative pressure. Is this normal?

Any ideas?

Picture below was how I had the additional blower hooked up. Too much pressure or negative pressure no matter the settings. They do not sync.

A little negative pressure is ok. Tent walls will suck in some which is fine. As long as there is air exchange. Sometimes it can be a real struggle trying to pinpoint parameters. As long as you have good air flow/exchange. Adding/taking away compontents with motors can start messing with your temps/rh and then you’re chasing a whole different set of numbers.

Agree that small amount of negative pressure is typically desirable, especially if running a carbon filter.

All you need to do in order to keep light out is build light traps for your intake air. You can usually do this by shaping insulated duct into the shape of S with opening away from light sources.
