Switching to coco

Damn, I was pulling for you bro. I guess they can’t all be girls.

Well it is 2024 maybe I can have a talk with him and see if he wants to identify as a girl? :joy::joy:

At some point I would like to get my own seeds but I’m not ready for that yet I only have the 4x4 tent for a while yet

So Safety Sam told me not to risk anything happening to the ATF. I had to get rid of the male and I can’t even be mad about it. The bastard went down swinging I cut my finger on the pot while taking him out. Guess I gotta respect that at least

Hello again @Low @Gl1tch @JPhoenixX

Thanks so much for this information and support Low.

Got it Low. For the first 2 weeks application it shouldn’t be an issue. The plants will still be in a small pot where I’ll be handwatering/feeding with a syringe at that point not using the rez and H2O2. AN’s schedule is first 2 weeks of veg and first 2 weeks of flower. They’ll go in the bigger Air Pot with the auto watering once they’re around 3 weeks old. For the 2 weeks of flower I’ll add them in separately by hand I guess.

500 gallons? :open_mouth: For how many plants? Between 3 plants I was feeding 60 litres a week at max and always getting at least 20% run-off. I wonder if I have something wrong with this as I see various growers feeding way more gallons than I am. But if I’m getting ample run-off doesn’t that mean the coco is fully saturated?

Got it about keeping everything clean, I’ll definitely give all this information priority and be doing all this every time I make a nute mix.

So the peroxide goes before making the nute mix then, I was assuming afterwards to sterilize it? Or both?

You have really expained the importance of taking every opportunity possible to get a cleaning in for the system, especially for hard to reach places like the tubing. Thank you so much.

Thank you for that detailed explanation about microbes. By conditions in the root zone you mean keeping an optimum pH and PPM from the run-off?

Got it, makes perfect sense. Low said he adds the H202 to the RO water before it goes in the rez. I fill water into 25 litre jerry cans from my RO. So, drop some H2O2 in each jerry can, transfer that to the rez, make the nute mix, then add some more H2O2 to the mix?

Thanks, that’s good to know, and thank you for the health warnings. I’ll be careful with it. It’s much easier to find the regular stuff here than the food grade version, I’ve made a few calls ith no luck.

@JPhoenixX Really sorry to hear about the male plant, that sucks :frowning: The ATF looks nice though. Some of your comments are funny lol, with the flamethrower and the plant putting up a fight till the end :joy:

Thanks again for your time and advice everyone, I truly appreciate it and feel like I’ve learnt some very useful knowledge from this topic.

Thank you @MagicCultivator420 I’m at a point in my life that I don’t have the energy to be angry I try to find some humor in it and move along

Girls are looking great. I had a little buzzard hanging out by my greenhouse the other day. He was eating a eating a cholla rat while I worked on the greenhouse. I think the ravens also figured out that they can use the watering can as a flotation device to get water out of the garden rez.

Awesome advice. I use 3 gallon air pots in 50/50 mix but have an automated watering system and fertigate 4 times a day. Definately need 5 gallon pots if hand watering else you will go crazy as big plants suck up a ton af water.

Gave the girls a haircut this morning. Thinking of going 12/12 maybe this weekend. I’m still really happy I switched to coco

Then just because I figured why not try getting a clone to root.

The girls are 63 days old today, flipped the lights a few days ago. They seem to like the coco as much as I have so that’s always good.

She’s getting big she took to all the training and asked for more. She should have been bushier but I messed up and left her next to the humidifier while getting blasted by the fan and she ended up losing a whole arm of her manifold.

ATF

She’s a shorty I tried a few times to get her to stretch out a little but she wasn’t having it. She just wants to be a little teapot short and stout.
I don’t think I’ve ever dealt with one that is this compact. I’m hoping she’ll stretch and make some room.

The girls are looking fantastic bro, Looks like it’s going to be a merry Christmas for you.

I have a white widow now with the same issue. I believe it’s just a different genotype coming through. There are some environmental things you can do to help her spread but changing the environment will affect them all so, not ideal with more then one. I was actually just reading last night about using auxins (the plant equivalent of HGH) to create greater internodal spacing, but there are a lot of unwanted side effects too. I’m just letting mine ride.

Thank you I can’t wait till the flowering starts.
I gave up trying to get her to do what I wanted and just left her alone. I’m curious as to how well it’s going to do I’ve never had one stay this compact. I take some leaves off to open her up a bit and you can’t tell the next time I open the tent so at least she’s happy lol

She will likely do just fine. She looks good and healthy is just a different shape. The one I have killing it in early flower.

I sure hope so lol

Normally I can see where it’s going and how I want to shape it. This one has me stumped maybe when she starts flowing I’ll get an idea. At this point she looks like she’s strangling herself she is starting to stretch a little tho

Thanks @MagicCultivator420 it’s nice when things work as I planned lol
