I plant directly in the ground i usually amend the soil with cow manure compost. I fed strictly compost tea this year and for the work didn’t think it made a giant difference. So I’m looking for suggestions on what to feed next year. In the past I’ve used fox farm 2 part with good success. Id prefer something water soluble but I’m open to any suggestions.
Thank you and if this has been asked in another thread feel too delete it and direct me to that thread.
Fox Farm nutes present pH problems and requires a couple of flushes to manage pH. Jack 321 is a better option. Highly effective, simple to use, inexpensive, and won’t submarine your pH over time like FF does.
I do plant directly in the ground maybe that’s why I didn’t have the issues. I mean i doubt I’m going to use ff again anyway that’s why I’m looking for other options. Compost tea was allot of work this year for not much results. I actually feel like buds were not as dense as they could of been
CX horticulture is a good line in my eyes, just a lot of bottles to mix but you can get a whole sample kit for $20 and it comes with six additive bottles and an A and A B and some goodies
Compost teas are about the micro life that it imparts. It’s not really a food source. It’s what consumes the amendments. You need to add food for them to bring to your plants. The teas are ment to be used when you add amends.
Edit: You have Dr earth or mother earth food currently?
The CX kit for 20$ will last a good while. I used it on like 10 plants or more and it last a few months so if your only using for 1 or 2 plants it’ll prolly last you more then 6 months
I strictly used dr earth during flower in tea. During veg I was using all kinds of stuff in the tea. Mycorrhizae blood meal kelp meal fish emulsion cow manure compost humic acid
Most of those nutrients aren’t water soluble so brewing them adds little. Topping them after as you did provides same results when wetted. Skip the brew and just top dress them.
Gotcha I always mix the stuff left from the tea in the soil around the plants so guess they were getting something. This is good info though i appreciate it.
If you look at your labels, you will see the soluble amount and usually that’s just N. Adding the tea dregs is the insoluble nutrition top dressed, so yes you were feeding them but with an added step. Save your back the extra effort.
Man with my bad back you don’t know what it was like carrying 5 gallons buckets to feed plants. If was taking me over 2 hours to feed them. My back feels better next year already
I have all the ingredients in my cart to order so I can make pain relieving salve. I grew a cbd plant specially for it. I have a friend sending me all kinds of links to articles about to curb the inflammation caused by the arthritis. Have not had a chance to read everything but allot of it he says it’s diet
