I tagged you in, enjoy!
Looking good on day 53. Starting to fade already. Should be chopping in about 25 days.
Been dealing with some soil acidity issues but am slowly getting it back up.
I did not water to runoff for the first few weeks and that led to a real bad salt buildup. Been fighting ph ever since.
Also, saw some mite bites on the gorilla z so I gave it a soak with insecticidal soap and it cleared that up quick.
@Growdoc @Lostgirl, weird deficiency showed up overnight. Looks like light burn but PPFD is 800. Was having some acidity issues but am still getting 1.8, 6.1 runoff. Still using cal mag. Super weird because this all happened overnight. Checked for pests, all clear. Seems to be very random. Not all the way up or down, not specific to fans or sugars.
I feel like your PH issue is showing in those leaves. If they aren’t overwatered, PH can show in the leaves just like that. Overwatering can show up on different parts as well if some of the roots are staying wet and some aren’t. I had that very issue with the problem children, they turned out to be too wet and turned out great after figuring it out and fixing. You have to get that ph up a bit more to be in range for all nutes to uptake, 6.1 is still too low in soil. I would add a tablespoon of finely ground Dolomites lime to the top of soil and scratch in when you water next, it will help run it in the soil. Regular lime won’t work fast enough and must break down, I powder mine in a grinder, but you could do a cup or so at a time in a blender. The finer the better. Your PH is blocking calcium from uptaking, causing the spots.![]()

Makes sense, thanks. Hope all is well.
Crinkle appears to be on the home stretch. 2-3 weeks left. What a rocket of a plant, sprouted July 7.
Looks like you got a case of nutrient burn. However, at 900 PPM runoff it wouldn’t be nutrient burn. With a 6.1 pH runoff (like @Growdoc said,) your potentially locking out some nutrients which will give you the same appearance in the leaves as nutrient burn.
Brown spot
Crispy leaves
Curling edges
And eventually total yellowing
In my opinion the top three biggest problems with growing in soil are
Over/Under watering
Over/under nutrients
Proper pH regulation
Not sure what type of soil you’re growing in or the nutrient line that you’re utilizing. Fox Farm soil tends to be the biggest issue with ph regulation in soils. I personally struggled with it myself until I was sick and tired of flushing on a weekly basis.
It truly amazes me that this pH soil problem continues when there is a positive proven fix for this. Advanced Nutrients pH perfect base nutrients. I switched almost 4 years ago and I’ve never had a pH problem since EVER
Without flushing and doing a reset there are additives like @Growdoc recommended lime and there’s others. These solution normally take weeks if not months to correct the soil and by then your damage is truly done.
If you’re truly struggling with ph issues there is but one fix that is instantaneous and proven effective. Growing is very difficult despite what people say. However, we make our own problems. Eliminating problems is what I’m about.
@Lostgirl, fox farm indeed. I fear it’s also been slightly overwatered. What medium do you use?
I use Fox Farm Happy Frog. It’s very well known for it inconsistent pH issues. Other than that it’s a great soil for cannabis. The fact that I’ve eliminated the issue of pH, it’s a flawless soil
Just grow, micro, and bloom for nutes? @Lostgirl
If you’re just looking to switch to the pH perfect system then yes you are correct micro, grow, and Bloom makes up the pH perfect system.
Do you use any of the others (big bud, overdrive) for PK push or just the base nutes the whole way?
I use big buds all the way through flower. If I have a particular strain that tends to be a PK hog I will use OverDrive. For the most part big buds is sufficient for your PK boost doing flower. Strains like gorilla cookie like more PK so I’ll use OverDrive.
@Growdoc Thanks for the inspo, I couldn’t run the constant fans on this run but I used an inkbird controller with a humidifier, the swings aren’t too bad.
9 weeks my ass.
Just finished week 11. They are “ready” but I’m gonna let it finish up 3-5 more days.
Outstanding job!
Wuddya think gang? Chop Sunday or wait till next Thursday.
