Start using DLI

We have found the photone app with a regular piece of printer paper used as a light diffuser works the best when set on natural sunlight.

Yhup, I’ve been following this page for a bit. App doesn’t work on my phone.
App does work on my woman’s but I don’t want to bother her with that.
Bought a lux meter. Found everything says you can’t convert lux to ppfd without knowing specifics about the light. My boards qb120 3k doesn’t have any specs on the page besides the above mentioned.
This is my 1st led light and I’m lost af. Was thinking today about busting out the hps to get these girls up to the net.
The closet I can find I think is low cree led, long day and I’m not remembering right. I’ll look back at what I’m needing in the morn.

If I gotta go with her phone so be it. Just trying not to bug her, buy a new phone or spend a ton of money. Thanks @Nicky for your help.

Who made your QB?
If hlg did they have their own lux to PPFD conversion (google it).

Otherwise it should be all examined above.
Waveform lighting has the converter I use.

Ok waveform was one I was working with.
Back to my question, which spectrum do I select from the drop down menu?
Trust me if I could figure this out i wouldn’t be here asking. I research my ass off b4 I bother anyone. I’m not here asking bs question, I’m lost.
You dug this rabbit hole and lead us down it, now needing some help.
Riddle me this and I’ll be off this thread.

I would use hlg v2 3k calculator or 3000k on led on the drop down menu in wave form

Thank ya sir, I’ll go with that for a week and see how they do. Thanks again, sorry I hate being lost and don’t deal well.

Ok with those 2 options I get…
Hlg= 364 ppfd
Wave= 475 ppfd
That’s why I’m lost.

Yeah so split the difference roughly and say it’s 400 PPFD that will make life easier.
Again lux conversion is not perfect but it’s much better than trying to geus height.

400 PPFD into
So at 18hr that’s 30 DLI basically.

And that’s a rap! Thank ya sir I’ll go with it.
Im was damn close to busting out one of the hps until I got more info/comfortable with these lights.
I’ve never had such tight nodes and I was freaking out they aren’t going to go vert.
But they are with ya help.

Tight nodes are good 1/2 inch at the max. Remeber the stretch phase will change that all

Lol, so now back to to that chart to dial it in.

Tight nodes are great! Especially seeing them on my own girls for the 1st time.
Just kinda worried me I was over lighting them but I think I’m good.
I’ma go take another measurement to confirm.

So you pumped up the numbers. I needa dial on up then.
My confusin here…want more light slow down my very growth and pack those nodes tighter?

It doesn’t necessarily slow it down, it changes the morphology of the plant.
Tight nodes are good, allow stretch but avoid stretch that will weaken your harvest and your plant. As nodes get further apart the plant tends to get skinnier and will bend under its own weight in flower, not ideal. The closer nodes are the more colas and the less popcorn buds will be grown

Also remember in veg your only seeing half of the growth, that is the growth above ground.
