Thank @Bentstick It’s just laying flat that gets me now, that and the constant fatigued feeling. I have to prop myself up on the couch to sleep, altho this morning I woke up flat on the couch with no real tickle/hack in the throat.
Coffee pot just beeped! Time for some warm fluids!
Put it in a bucket to sweat overnight, idea being today I serve my sentence while watching NFL games. Got paroled at halftime of the morning game to take Sheba out for her walk, then back at it. Two and a half hours to get it all done and separated. The dark buds have an incredible floral aroma to them, way stronger than those that didn’t change colour. I separated out the big buds and the really nice buds and jarred those separately…my personal stash - too bad, SIL!
Not shown in the pic above is the small popcorn buds. They are firm, not larfy, and yielded 36.5 grams put in 2 jars. The big stinky bud tray gave me 3 jars totaling 42 grams. The regular nice ol’ buds filled 7 jars at 142 grams. And a handful of really nice trim and some more kief in the bottom of the tray to add to the collection.
I am truly amazed by the smell of the purple buds - never had smells like this on my grows (usually skunkier), and I have 2 outdoor ladies that are all purple! I have a few dying buds on the outdoor ladies, tomorrow I need to go out and cull those before they affect the rest of the plant. They ain’t pretty but they sure do smell great too! I can smell them when the wind blows the branches together, you get these huge whiffs of goodness. One more week for them!
@Deadhead are any of your Vietnamese Blacks starting to go purple on you? If you can drop the temps to bring that out, you’ll get some phenomenal terpine profiles coming thru! I didn’t get it in the tent, and only a few in the cellar (it gets colder than the tent). Outdoor temps at night here are in the mid-40’s. Can’t get the tent under 75, and the cellar probably goes to 60 at lights out.
Glad those are done, I now consider myself legal as far a plant count goes. Will be nice to be able to sample soon, haven’t had a puff since last Saturday night…damn bug is still messing with my lungs. But getting better finally.
Not yet, but they’re in tents. However, they do get exposed to much cooler nighttime temperatures, so we’ll see. They do have a unique aromatic profile, very pleasant.
Nice day out today. Had to do that check on my outdoor ladies and cut off any rot/crap that doesn’t look right. Snip snip, cut off a few branches and a bunch of dead stuff, the small pile of buds are what I saved from the branches in the plastic tray, which got tossed.
Weather forecast is changing, rain starting Friday. So I spent 4 hours cutting branches off and pulling anything small and larfy looking into a small bucket, anything that looked worthy of smoking stayed on a branch. Did the 3-bucket budwash on them, branches first, change water, did the loose buds. The whole neighbourhood stank! I’m sure the neighbour cop across the street is going to say something next time I see him, he was out working in his yard. But these are legal, so I don’t care!
And this is how she looks now, nothing on there worth the effort.
The small buds went on a circular drying screen, and the branches are hanging. Screen stuff will be dried really well and used for kief mining, it’s not even worth using a jar to store it! Mine it and decarb the rest, use it for cooking or something.
Hope you all had a productive day! Been 9 days without a puff for me
Thanks @TransplantedFarmgirl she as pretty little buds for sure! Just went down and took some pics too!
Floor joists make perfect little hanging supports if you staple some twine across a bunch of them. The branches hanging will get trimmed and jarred and burped and cured and smoked
This little drying rack is about 2 foot diameter, managed to hang that from the twine too! These are buds that will be mined and probably made into edibles of some sort, I’ll decide what to do with the larfy stuff after the other 3 come down.
Temps in the cellar are about 60F and about 50% humidity. Like that down there all year round. Close enuff for an optimal dry, and good for growing too!
Just having a bite to eat then it’s back out there with my 3 buckets. Will likely have to cut them up a bit to get them to fit, but still lots of hanging space in the cellar on the twine. Another hour should do it, these went a lot faster than the first one!
Only plant left now is in the tent, and that’ll come down soon, buds are starting to die on it as well. Like Bruce says… Iiiiittttttsssssss Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimme!!!
So plant #1 is dry, this evening snipped the buds of. Small little things, didn’t even really need trimming sine all the small stuff was already pulled off and laid out on the screen. Buds may be tiny and a bit larfy, but came in at 95 grams. The other stuff in the screen was 50 grams.
The other 2 plants hanging will produce more and better buds, and the 4th that’s inside right now may come down on Sunday…keep finding more dead stuff on it, not much, small bud here and there, but just hate finding that.
Plant #2 dry, snip snip. About 66 grams of popcorn buds and 77 grams of larfy edible/infusion material. Way too many branches on these outdoor ladies and they just didn’t fill in. But…these purple buds smell so damn good I just have to try them after they cure!
The 3rd plant will get bucked up tomorrow morning before I cook our Thanksgiving turkey, and fortunately it has some nice buds on it (this was the plant harvested in the bag).
And if I get really ambitious plant #4 in the tent will get chopped. More likely Sunday or Monday tho. It also has more bud than larfy looking stuff, so at least the green plants will give me some yield. Outdoors is always hit and miss, have to see what I do next year.
My indoor VB did great! It’s just the inconsistencies in weather and feeding that they endured outside. And I didn’t do any heavy defoliation like you do inside…you figure the sun is going to hit all the plant rather than the light just hitting the canopy. Rather than building a solid bud at the colas, they stretched right until the end, so each budsite branched and then I had these pissy little nugs with lots of leaf around them. At least the 2 purple, original top clones did that. The 2 clones taken from side branches filled in better, one gets trimmed today and the other gets harvested soon (it’s back indoors to finish). They’ve got some nice buds on them!
Next year outdoors I will trim and lollipop them. But that will be a different strain. Next year will be the CBD Cream and Cheese runs, my niece will get a bunch of that for her seizures, so I’ll do a single plant in January or February in the tent, then clone runs in the tent and cellar after that and 4 outside.
So plant #3 produced 65 grams of smokable popcorn buds and 56 grams of edible material. Scraped out about 2 tablespoon of kief after all 3 plants.
All the edible stuff is still in the cellar, hoping it gets really dry so I can sift it for more kief. Plant 4 is looking ok in the tent, it’ll be a few days before I get to it I think. Wife is off for a week and wants to start painting again, which means patching, sanding and taping for me so she can cut in. Then I roll, I’m a great roller!
So I cooked the Thanksgiving turkey yesterday and had daughter, SIL and grandson up. I do the cooking in the family and like to cleanup as I go so there’s no uge mess at the end. Great day, still wasn’t smoking (been 2 weeks now without). Everything was coming together, so at 5pm asked the SIL if he wanted to try my infused Everclear. So we each has a tablespoon in a glass of OJ.
Well, half hour later as I’m making the gravy, it hits! Manage to carve the bird without cutting myself. Was able to get roast potatoes and veggies out the oven without burning myself. Was able to serve everybody without dropping food all over the place (much to Sheba’s dismay). And then ate everything!
Walking was a chore. Even getting off the couch was difficult. But while wife and daughter were bathing grandson after dins and SI was melting in the couch, I managed to put a take-home meal together for them, put the leftovers in containers, rinse all the dishes and wipe the counters.
Rest of the night was spent with a great smile on my face and very comfortable on the couch. Was really high until about 10:30, then just a mild buzz which lasted beyond falling asleep around midnight. And a great night sleep, slept solid for 5 hours, then off and on like my nights usually are. Woke up feeling great this morning…ambitious, alert, and still a bit tingly down the spine and legs.
A teaspoon of this is a perfect dose for me! Two teaspoons wasn’t enuff the first time I tried it, and I don’t think I’d want to do any more than I did last night! Knowing my capacities, I’m guessing 40mg THC per teaspoon, sure felt that I had over 100mg last night! Probs around 120 to 140.
Need to check on the SIL later…I’m 180 pounds and have a high tolerance. He’s still a young pup and a lightweight at about 130 pounds, no wonder he couldn’t move from the couch!
Hope everyone is having a fantastic morning, I sure feel great!
So the last Vietnamese Black lady is loving the tent! Temps are 74F and humidity is 64%. She is starting to bulk up, haven’t found much more new dead stuff, so I’m letting her run with it! Every time I go in there I still pull off dried dead leaves, only ones remaining are around larfy little buds on spindly branches. And even that is starting to fall off on its own or with just a little tug.
She fills the 4x4 nicely, even with losing a few inches to suckage she’s not touching the walls.
Wife is off work this week and we started painting the bedrooms today. She wants to finish everything by next weekend. So I don’t have time to harvest her now anyways! Glad I brought her inside when I did, might get 3 or 4 zips off her when she does get the chop.
Only ladder work now is a 3-step stepladder, just to cut in at the 8’ ceiling!
Broke my roller tonight, have to buy another one tomorrow. Another night’s reprieve from painting! And I have 2 joints rolled from 2 weeks ago. Think I’ll go out and smoke 'em both!
My Sweet Yung Thang stretched like Livy Dunne pole-dancing on the catwalk, and has a lot of that pissy stuff, too. Hope she fills out more like yours. In her 8th week flowering now.
Short Time Girl in her 6th week is turning into a compact, muscular powerhouse. Pretty impressive for an emaciated seedling that went from a cull to a queen.
I still have all the larfy material sitting in my TrimBin in the cellar getting drier. I went down yesterday and broke it up by rubbing it in my hands, crumbling what I could. Then shake shake shake! Got a nice layer of kief on the bottom of the bin! Will do that several more times with that, then maybe make an old fashioned pot cake out of 2 ounces of it,
We used to get the Betty Crocker Apple Cinnamon spice cake and grind up undecarbed weed in it. It gets decarbed while you cook it. Cake turns out green and has bits, but the taste is masked well enough. Quick and effective!
Here she is, the last plant of 2025, finishing off indoors since Oct 2nd. I thot then that she needed another 2 or 3 weeks, still looks like she could go another 2 or 3!
Leaves are dying and crisping rapidly, and I pluck them off constantly. Most of it is on the lower larfy crap so we’ll have to see how long she lasts. Screwed up about 5 days ago and forgot about her…shriveled up a bit but did recover. Altho her leaves are dying faster now. She’ll be an easy harvest at least.
Stil getting little larfy branches dying on me too. Have a coupe I snipped off and have drying, add that to the edible pile I guess.
Oh, I shook my TrimBin again before jarring up about 8 ounces of trim that’s been in there for a week. Got probably 10 grams or so! Add that to the jar of kief!
Hope everyone is having a great day, so far so good here!
