FIRST LET ME TELL U MY PROBLEM. THE SEED I STARTED IN MY HYDROPONIC INSIDE GROW TENT LOOK GOOD BUT THEY JUST COME UP BUT HAVE A 3" STIM. THEY ARE SLINDER AND TALL. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO OR IS THIS OK. I HAVE A LED LIGHT 5’ AND IS 400 WATTS. I AM USEING A STARTER KIT WITH 400PPM AND 5.9 PH. TEMP. AT 79 TO 80 AND 60%HUMD. I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE STARTED THE SEEDS IN A TRAY WITH A FORSENT LIGHT. BUT I HAVE TO WORK WITH WHAT I GOT. PLEASE GIVE ME SOME INPUT. ``` THANK U, SAM. ``` ---

You don’t have to start with fluorescent lights nor in a tray. If the plants are stretching too much it might be because you could have had your light a lot closer. Also do you have a light breeze being blown across the plants, a small fan blowing gently also helps develop stronger thicker stems. ---

I agree. You have your lamp too far from the plant to provide the intensity of light that the plant desires. I also question your use of nutrients at this early stage. I run water PH of 5.8-5.0 with a TBS per gallon of Liquid Karma for my young plants. Very low PPM. What is the PPM of your water before you add nutrients? ---

THE WATER ALONE IS 200PPM. A TOTAL OF 390PPM. THE PLANTS ARE DARK GREEN WITH NO SIGN OF BURNING OR WILTING. THEY ARE GROWING LIKE CRAZY WITH 18HR. UNDER VEG GROTH LIGHT. THE STEAMS ARE STRONG BUT 4" OF THEM. I AM GOING TO LOWER LIGHT TO 18" ABOVE THEM AND WATCH CLOSE NEXT 24 TO 48 HR. TO SEE IF IT IS TO HOT FOR THEM. ANYMORE HELP I WOULD LOVE. ``` SAM. ``` ---

Nope, just the same already stated above. You have your PPM very low as you should for seedlings. About the only thing I might recommend differently is to bring the light closer slowly, incrementally, maybe go a day at 36" and then a day at 24" and then finally at 18". ---

OK. I am trying to learn the parameters of LED’s. that was great info. I think I read some topic mentioned lED’s can burn plant’s much like an HID. Did I perceive that correctly? ---

Not from the heat so much, but yes they can still burn the leaves from intensity. ---
